Hi Folks, This is a new one for me. One of my AS numbers (AS27421) appears to be being used by someone in Brazil. We haven't seen any actual effects of the hijack -- that is, we don't appear to be losing any traffic. The only reason we noticed is because it's being reported on HE's BGP monitoring site. I've reached out to the abuse contact for the AS's the hijacker is peering with (AS1000, AS271253 - same abuse contact for both) several times and gotten no response. Though, looking at which prefixes AS271253 is originating, it doesn't appear this AS cares much about proper behavior. If anyone has any advice on next steps, it would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt

Speaking of Charging for IPs

I didn't want to de-rail the other thread, but it did bring up a question. What are people currently charging for IPv4 addresses? Especially larger allocations to businesses / enterprise customers (/26 - /23 range). We've had several larger business customers, etc. recently requesting some large blocks and we're trying to figure out a realistic price. Shawn

Has anyone else experienced an upstream provider that wants to charge you for the IPs you need to establish BGP sessions? I understand charging for large blocks, but I literally just got a quote for two /31s. I have an existing contract elsewhere with them, and they gave me 3x /29s gratis (for three different ASNs, sets of BGP sessions, ec.). Now they're charging for each IP.
