FTTH CPE landscape

This isn't necessarily operational content, so I apologize in advance for the noise and thus encourage off-list replies (and/or flames). I figure the NANOG demographic might be able to point me in the right direction seeing as how far reaching into the industry the readership is. I'm doing research on potential FTTH CPE vendors and I'd like to poke around for some potential vendors to see who I've missed. The feature wish list more or less looks like so: - Small, wall-mount'ish form factor - 6-8 wire speed 10/100/1000 LAN ports - Generic consumer grade NAT/Firewall - Fixed BX WAN port - 1-2 POTS ports with SIP UA - TR-69 support for full CPE configuration (User features/configuration and SP features/configuration) - No Wifi (or the ability to disable it from the SP provisioning side) - DHCP client - 802.1q on LAN and WAN ports - Multicast - -48v input - Per VLAN egress shaping/policing over WAN port - DHCP option 82 support If anyone has something like this in the field or knows of a vendor who can meet these requirements in some fashion by product line or custom build, please drop me a line. Also, if anyone knows of any NANOG'esque FTTH lists, I'd welcome a subscribe URL. Thanks in advance.

Folks, In the never ending game of policy whack-a-mole, we are offered the claim that that the cost to a small to medium business to make its operational purpose v6 address enabled is in the mid-five figures. For those of you who do smb consults, some numbers to make a hypothetical shop consisting of a quarter rack of gear running nothing more goofy than a couple of applications on a couple of ports, basicially, a dbms plus a bit of gorp, say in central Kansas, to which some provider, say Kansas Telekenesis and Telefriend has just made v6 happy. Having renumbered hq.af.mil some time ago, I'm expecting the 50k bogie to add colons to some retail insurance office or mortuary in central Kansas to be on the exceedingly good dope high side. Thanks in advance for real numbers, which I'll sanitize before using to attmept to keep one policy playpen slightly less crazy than normal. Eric

Hi, Sorry to use the NANOG mailing list for such request, but time is of the essence here: One of my client is looking into expanding into China and requested that I get him a ball-park price range for the following requirement. The project is kind of getting out of control and he'd like to receive a range by end-of-day. Any soft quote or anecdotal feedback is accepted - Feel free to answer off list, as to not spam NANOG more. + a 10x20feet cage + 4x50 amps/208v circuits (redundancy is already taken into account here) + 4x30 amps/208v circuits (redundancy is already taken into account here) + 2x20 amps/208v circuits (redundancy is already taken into account here) note on power: we expect to requires something like 25k watts... any limits? note on location: Hong Kong seem to be a good spot, but there is no restriction on the exact location. We are looking into a giga connection with 100Mb commited), or is it better to go for our own BGP setup with 2 independents connections (no idea about the state of things in China) ? Hi all, I will like to know, from those deploying IPv6 services to residential customers, if you are planning to provide static or dynamic IPv6 prefixes. Just to be clear, I'm for static prefix delegation to residential customers, however I heard that some ISPs are doing dynamic delegations, the same way as is common today with IPv4. I don't thin it make sense, as the main reason for doing so in IPv4 was address exhaustion and legacy oversubscription models such as PPP/dial-up. Currently the data is from January 26, 2011 to present. (it's finishing the data for 08/03/2011 right now...) The data source is the route-views2 collector.
