Howdy! Does anyone have any thoughts regarding the new router architectures from Pluris and Juniper? I know neither company has shipped yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the respective development teams, proposed architectures, etc. Thanks, slandman(a)zd.com

we saw the ~5000 routes as well.. > > I bet this hole will be patched up real soon! you can't filter more specifics of your netblocks if they've been allocated to your dual-homed (to different providers) customers, else when their connection to you is down, you won't accept the 'back-up' route from the 'other' provider. -danny

AS 7007 creating a black hole

At the moment AS 7007 is advertising almost the entire global routing table as being originating from it. We have asked Sprint to shut them down. Ismat.

Not exactly true, we have used a HSSI card from NetStar since October of last year. I know they have had a ethernet card after that but before Ascend. What really matters though is the software that runs the cards, and since Ascend has taken over we are seeing releases for upgrades and fixes coming alot faster. More people to throw at it.... Any way, we were a early adopter and have used all the cards that are available, from ethernet, fddi, hssi and atm. T1 card does not make allot of since to us, but it does to our customers and I know they are working on it as we have these discussion. Subsequently Sprint began appearing as the best-path to everywhere, seriously inconveniencing my lunch hour.
