I use both CISCO GRF400 and GateD. I think that GateD is the best easy to use and develop public routing software. But even if the GRF400 runs GateD, it's not as reliable as a CISCO 7500 per example. The GRF400 has to much bugs to be an operational backbone router. For example when you redistribute static routes via BGP, the GRF redistributes the adress IP of the non telecommunication port to. The Ascend technical center is not helpful nor the documentation. And the performance are limited to an average of 50k pps per card. AT&T NOC?

AT&T are currently advertising 61.8/20 for some reason but 61.8/19 is one of my networks. I need to contact them urgently as this is affecting about half of my customers. I'v fired of an email to noc(a)att.net but havent got anything yet. BGP & CIDR blocks

Is it unreasonable of me to think it's awfully backwards of ANS.NET to require anyone getting a new CIDR block to physically call ANS's NOC and say "please listen to routes for this block from this AS"? First they told me "we don't trust BGP, so we use the various routing registries to build our routing tables." So I got our new block and our AS in radb.ra.net. A few days (and an ANS routing table update or two) go by, and still we have no connectivity to ANS. Then I get an email from them asking me to please call thier NOC to verify that they really should listen to our route. Isn't the point of BGP that you don't have to manually take care of routing updates?
