I don't understand why you are so frequently so thoroughly UNPLEASANT in your tone whenever you return to the issue, and I don't understand why you return to the issue with such frequency. Perhaps you might pause to reflect on that before people write you off entirely as a wingnut, and miss the occasional useful point you make (e.g., why isn't everyone filtering?) and the occasional useful response made in reply (e.g., Sprint is not the only network filtering at the /19 level across newer address space). SUMMARY: IP allocations, renumbering, and RFC 2050

Much thanks to all who responded. I seemed to get a pretty consistent response from everybody who replied: Your Milage May Vary. Some people had had no problem with getting renumbering time, some people had had tons of problems. Some people said MCI had been very reasonable, some said that CW changed their policies. At any rate, once I knew I wasn't being that unrealistic, I emailed the IP allocation people at MCI, and got this response (which they asked me to post back to this list): > Scott, > > This is the correct email address for such requests. The real problem here is that Telehouse either doesn't want or doesn't have the ability to give you floor tiles that have holes cut to your spec. They basically rummage round and get you a tile with a random-sized hole in it. If you're lucky, you get a big hole in the middle. If you're not, you get one just big enough to fit your hand through (and risk the jaggies on the bottom) at some random spot on the tile. NANOG 14 HOTEL

I checked with the hotel today there are still some rooms available under the NANOG room block. The block ends on Friday, 10/9. The hotel will honor the block room rate beyon Friday as long as rooms are available. However, they did say that the hotel is almost full. I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out of the Exodus discussion. Their corportate lawyer sent a note to me (with copy to my company's legal counsel) that he found my "numerous notes" to be "offensive and harassing". As far as I know, this is my SECOND posting to a public forum with respect to my dealings with Exodus. I'm not sure how that qualifies as numerous, nor do I understand how my initial note could be construed as offensive or harassing. I guess if you're an Exodus customer you're simply not supposed to tell anyone if you've gotten poor service or if you've gotten spammed. So rather than create work for their insufficiently utilizized legal counsel, I'll just let it drop. If anyone would like to discuss this with me offline, please feel free to drop me a line. As far as I know, you can't be harangued by a lawyer for talking to folks in private. *shrug* Simply amazing. I thought I'd seen it all.... Where do you stand?

What would you do in this case? You are contracted by an accounting firm and as a favor to them you provide email redirection, pop accounts, web redirection, and web space to their clients at no charge. Your company is the one who registers the domain name and pays for it. In fact the domain name isnt in the name of the company, but is in fact in the name of your company. All of a sudden the individual stops dealing with the accounting firm. Out of the blue, without any contact you receive a notice showing domain modifications. After perfoming 15 months of free service they dont even bother to call to tell you they are transfering the domain name they paid for.
