Amazon peering request help

Hi, I’m trying to create a peering request on interconnect.amazon but when I reach “step 3” (contact email) and when I try the “Create” button (last step) I’m getting “Error: Too many requests”. It's a Hitron CODA-45 and there's no SNMP or anything similar as far as I can tell. Digging into the HTTP status page that you can pull up, I noticed the way it loads is very odd: it's all javascript-based and actually hitting some internal calls that return JSON in the background. One weekend later and I built something to pull from that, do some basic math, and plot some graphs. Rogers 2022 network outage, Xona Report

After a July 2022 outage that caused the whole Rogers network to go down for an extended period (bring down the single homed Interac payment system with it across Canada), political pressure caused CRTC to have a process to look into it. Part of it was the commissioning of a report by experts. Norms and Standards

Last October at NANOG89 in San Diego, John Curran exhorted us to work together<https://youtu.be/U1Ip39Qv-Zk?feature=shared> to document best practices before governments developed their own. John pointed out that in many industries, technical requirements and standards inform public policy goals, and vice versa. Then, when regulation is enacted, it refers to the standards developed by those technical experts. For example, the policy goal of protecting people from house fires is promoted through building codes (laws) which reference fire and electrical codes developed by standards bodies. Governments are instituted by people to provide national defense, perform public services, protect children and vulnerable people, safeguard privacy and freedom, and prosecute those who transgress the above[1]. However, governments don't operate the Internet, so when there are threats to or violations of the governmental role, they look to us. As John notes, they are increasingly looking at their roles with respect to the Internet. If we don't work together to provide tools to enable governments to fulfill their legitimate role, they will do what they think is best. If we have agreed on some norms and standards, then they can point to those and say, "This looks like best practice." In many cases, that gives us a safe harbor against additional action from governments-if I can show I'm following accepted best practices, I'm less of a target than my non-compliant competitors. What should we work on together? * We already have MANRS, KINDNS, some anti-spam (no open relays, block port 25, etc.). * DDoS mitigation. BCP38, communities for RTBH, packet scrubbing, etc. What can we do collectively? * Infrastructure protection. Best practices for protecting your devices and services. * Critical infrastructure protection. Do we have a role in protecting power plants, hospitals, etc., more than others? * Net neutrality. Is there more than just "don't inspect above L3"? Do CDNs or caches privilege some content unfairly? * IPv6? The government angle is mostly anti-CGN, but this is a greater problem outside this region. * Other ideas? If a group of people can pick one topic and start documenting best practices, we may be able to do something good. I'm not worried about process yet: content first. Is there a topic above, or another one, on which folks would like to collaborate to describe best practices? Wi-Fi Calling in a corporate environment

Hey all, Question if anyone knows about cell phone wi-fi calling in US. Googling isn't finding what I'm looking for. We have a corporate site in US where users have BYOD capability, and use their phones with wi-fi calling enabled. Site uses a single NAT address (IPv4) for BYOD access. Recently the site reported wi-fi calling had stopped working for all user phones, Apple and Android, all about the same time. The guest network did have some bandwidth limitation applied and they had overuse. That was since resolved, we upped the bandwidth. But the phones all still avoided wi-fi calling. It's a manufacturing site with known cell signal issues, so most users had no signal via carrier. I did not get a packet capture yet to see what could be going on, we're 99% sure we're not blocking traffic. I'm wondering if the phones have an algorithm to test wi-fi signal, and perhaps the carriers will blacklist public IPs with known wi-fi calling issues to avoid cases where an emergency call can't be made because of intermittent bad performance? It seems odd that even when no bandwidth issues exist, it's not attempted. Thoughts? Thanks, Chuck Church
