Status Update: Mapping Where Broadband Is—and Is Not—Available in the U.S. June 30, 2022 https://www.fcc.gov/news-events/notes/2022/06/30/status-update-mapping-wher… Inaugural Filing Window for Broadband Data Collection Has Opened https://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-opens-inaugural-bdc-filing-window Starting today, facilities-based broadband service providers may begin to file in the BDC system data that reflects where they make mass-market internet access service available as of June 30, 2022. Such data must be filed no later than September 1, 2022. Entities that choose to submit verified availability data in the inaugural filing window, such as authenticated state, local, and Tribal governmental entities primarily responsible for mapping or tracking broadband coverage in their areas, must also submit their data as of June 30, 2022, and no later than September 1, 2022.

AWS - IP Address is Blocked?

Hello, I have a public IP address in the Dallas area receiving HTTP 403 errors whenever they visit ANY website powered by AWS, which is impacting quite a significant chunk of connectivity. If anyone has a way of contacting AWS's support team about getting this IP address removed from their block list or explain what is happening, I would greatly appreciate if you could contact me off list. I begin my questioning by mentioning the recent moves towards standardization of BGP Roles made formalized initially by RFC 9234, and also by what is proposed with the ASPA that we should see soon. And from what I can see, it makes a lot of sense to have an IRR representation through AS-SET of the list of ASNs that you would have a neighborhood relationship in each role. This is done with the objective of being able to make public (if desired) the type of relationship that each ASN with its Peers, and also to be able to build, and publish (if desired) in a better elaborated way the Routing Policies of each ASN. In view of this, I was wondering if: Any kind of standardization for the naming of these AS-SETs that would represent this group of peers had already been considered? Something that came to my mind would be to use the strings proposed by RFC9234 for the IANA REGISTRY and use it as a suffix for the AS-SET name. AS<AS_Number>:AS-ROLE-<Suffix_String_of_Role_Defined_on_rfc9234> Exemplifying: as-set: AS65123:AS-ROLE-PROVIDER descr: ASN list of Transit Upstream(Providers) of AS65123. as-set: AS65123:AS-ROLE-CUSTOMER descr: ASN list of Transit Downstream(CUSTOMER) of AS65123. as-set: AS65123:AS-ROLE-PEER descr: ASN list of Networks that AS65123 do some kind of peering. as-set: AS65123:AS-ROLE-RS descr: ASN list of Route-Servers with which AS65123 has a BGP neighborhood. as-set: AS65123:AS-ROLE-RS-CLIENT descr: ASN list of Route-Server Clients the route-servers of AS65123. NANOG Community, The NANOG Program Committee (PC) would like to remind you that we are accepting proposals for in-person or live remote presentations at all sessions of NANOG 86, a hybrid meeting, taking place in Hollywood, California on 17-19 Oct 2022. Below is a summary of key details and dates from the Call For Presentations on the NANOG website, which can be found at https://www.nanog.org/program/call-presentations/. Given by many of the industry’s top minds, presentations at NANOG meetings are meant to spark the imagination, encourage dialogue, and drive new solutions to our greatest networking challenges. Presentations may cover current technologies, soon-to-be deployed technologies, and industry innovation. Vendors are welcome to submit talks which cover relevant technologies and capabilities, but presentations should not be promotional, or discuss proprietary solutions. Requested Topics: Based on feedback from our survey results, we have seen numerous requests for the following topics: - Network Automation - Tutorials (IPv6, BGP, Segment Routing, DNS) - Security (developments in, problems/solutions, various protocols of). The primary speaker, moderator, or author should submit a presentation proposal and abstract via the Program Committee Tool at: https://www.nanog.org/meetings/submit-presentation/ - Sign in with your Profile Account - Select the type of talk you propose to present, and complete the form Timeline for submission and proposal review: - Submitter enters abstract (and draft slides if possible) in the Program Committee Tool prior to the deadline for slide submission. - PC performs initial review and assigns a “shepherd” to help develop the submission — typically within 2 weeks. - Submitter develops draft slides of talk if not already submitted with the initial proposal.
