Nanog, I would like to poll the collective for experiences both positive and negative with the Nexus line. More specifically I am interested in hearing about FEX with N2K at the ToR and if this has indeed made any impact on Opex as well as non-obvious shortcomings to using the fabric extenders. Also if anyone is using any of the Nexus line for I/O convergence (FCoE) I would be interested in hearing your experience with this as well. Thank you in advance, -A

Indiana Dark Fiber

Any recommendations for dark fiber between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne? I see a few routes, but that doesn't mean they actually sell dark fiber. The company that we've partnered with asked a couple companies (Zayo, IFN and one of the Time Warners) and came up short. Seems odd because Zayo lists dark fiber routes to within 1.5 miles of the Fort Wayne location, but figured I'd look to see what companies I was missing that actually did dark fiber. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com

HOW did they make it--seems like it would have been like making a hole in a bass drum with a finger (lot of bounce, not much cut)? How long did it take to put that many in, and how many worked on the project? Why didn't some alarm or path measurement disclose the deterioration before the cavity was packed so full?
