AS690 3rd party routing

Folks, As advertised last week, ANS is eliminating AS690 third party routing at interchange points. We will make this change effective with our config run tomorrow morning (Friday, 5/12). AS690 will continue to provide ANS routes at these interchange points, of course, but we will no longer reflect the routes of other providers. Those in need of third party routes may contact the Routing Arbiter at db-admin(a)ra.net to set up a peering arrangement with the Routing Arbiter Route Server. Steve

Carrier-carrier interfaces

I'm looking for information on carrier to carrier connectionless networks. Specifically, i'm looking for information about network layer connectivity, such as policies that are implemented at carrier boundaries, how carriers bill each other for usage, and other administrative arrangements necessary between carriers, any information on global internet policies, etc. Does anyone have any pointers to any documentation/information on this? NANOG Meeting information on the Web

Pointer to ATM performance work?

I seem to remember discussion at one of the meetings of some ATM performance work that looked at the benefits of discarding whole TCP packets when a cell was dropped. Can someone give me a pointer to this? --Richard

Sprint has nothing to do with the loops. Gordon -- you as a practioning journalist should know better than to trust "information" of hear-say, particluarly when the source explicitly disclaimed any first-hand knowledge. Sprint customers are informed about scheduled maintenance and outages by means of a special mailing list. --vadim Did this happen on Friday? If so I heard from a directly knowledgeable source that there was a power failure in Dallas that affected the MFS pop there and that MFS had to bring in a truck with generators to get the node operational again.
