Kahn, President CNRI The Maryland Center for Telecommunications Research (MCTR) and the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) will hold the 7th Maryland Workshop on Very High Speed Networks on November 5-6, 1996 at the UMBC campus. The goal of the Workshop is to bring together experts in related areas to discuss progress and research issues in the design and implementation of very high speed communication networks. Two ASN 99s

This is probably a really stupid question, but why are there two ASN 99s? Was ASN 99 recycled or reassigned or something? I did a really quick uniq through the ASN list, and the only other duplicate registrations I see are more-specifics for ASNs which were assigned in blocks, 1381 and 3933, for example, but this doesn't seem to be such a case. On the DNS issue, I would agree with you that their implementation has some serious shortcomings. On the other issue, I think there's something wrong with your customers. I have a computer on my home network running Windows NT 4. It's not a /24 network, it's a /29, and NT4 accepts a .248 netmask without any problem. -- William S. Randy - The plan is get a couple of hubs and string a handful of thinnet lines to the back of the room for the laptop crowd. People seemed to like this setup at D.C. so we're going to do that again. There is also a computer lab down the hall in the adjacent building with a hundred or so machines.
