So have *.app.linktechs.net that I have been trying to get to work, we have DNSSEC on this, and its failing, but cannot for the life of me understand why. I think it may have something to do with proving it exists as a wildcard, but any DNSSEC experts want to take a stab at it ? Dennis Burgess

Call for Participation -- ICANN DNSSEC and Security Workshop for ICANN Policy Forum In cooperation with the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), we are planning a DNSSEC and Security Workshop for the ICANN80 Policy Forum being held as a hybrid meeting from 10-13 June 2024 Kigali, Rwanda in the Central Africa Time - CAT (UTC +2). This workshop date will be determined once ICANN creates a block schedule for us to follow; then we will be able to request a day and time. The DNSSEC and Security Workshop has been a part of ICANN meetings for several years and has provided a forum for both experienced and new people to meet, present and discuss current and future DNSSEC deployments. For reference, the most recent session was held at the ICANN79 The Community Forum on Wednesday, 06 March 2024. The presentations and transcripts are available at: https://icann79.sched.com/. The DNSSEC Workshop Program Committee is developing a program for the upcoming meeting. Proposals will be considered for the following topic areas and included if space permits. In addition, we welcome suggestions for additional topics either for inclusion in the ICANN78 workshop, or for consideration for future workshops. 1. Global DNSSEC Activities Panel For this panel, we are seeking participation from those who have been involved in DNSSEC deployment as well as from those who have not deployed DNSSEC but who have a keen interest in the challenges and benefits of deployment, including Root Key Signing Key (KSK) Rollover activities and plans. 2. DNSSEC Best Practice Now that DNSSEC has become an operational norm for many registries, registrars, and ISPs, what have we learned about how we manage DNSSEC? * Do you still submit/accept DS records with Digest Type 1? * What is the best practice around key roll-overs? * What about Algorithm roll-overs? * Do you use and support DNSKEY Algorithms 13-16? * How often do you review your disaster recovery procedures? * Is there operational familiarity within your customer support teams? * What operational statistics have been gathered about DNSSEC? * Are there experiences being documented in the form of best practices, or something similar, for transfer of signed zones? Activities and issues related to DNSSEC in the DNS Root Zone are also desired. 3. DNSSEC Deployment Challenges The program committee is seeking input from those that are interested in implementation of DNSSEC but have general or concerns with DNSSEC. We are seeking input from individuals that would be willing to participate in a panel that would discuss questions of the following nature: * Are there any policies directly or indirectly impeding your DNSSEC deployment? (RRR model, CDS/CDNSKEY automation) * What are your most significant concerns with DNSSEC, e.g., complexity, training, implementation, operation, or something else? * What do you expect DNSSEC to do for you and what doesn't it do? * What do you see as the most important trade-offs with respect to doing or not doing DNSSEC? 4. Security Panel The program committee is looking for presentations on DNS, DNSSEC, routing and other topics that could impact the security and/or stability of the Internet. We are looking for presentations that cover implementation issues, challenges, opportunities, and best practices for: * Emerging threats that could impact the security and/or stability of the Internet * DoH and DoT * RPKI (Resource Public Key Infrastructure) * BGP routing & secure implementations * MANRS ( Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security) * Browser security – DNS, DNSSEC, DoH * EMAIL & DNS related security – DMARC, DKIM, TLSA, etc… If you are interested in participating, please send a brief (1-3 sentence) description of your proposed presentation to dnssec-security-workshop(a)icann.org<mailto:dnssec-security-workshop@icann.org> by COB Friday, 10 May 2024. N91 Women mixer on Sunday?

For those that know me, I rarely provide constructive input about NANOG matters due to my past affiliation, however, I just saw that NANOG announced the Women mixer on Sunday before NANOG 91 and am outraged for all of the young professional women who would like to participate in NANOG. While the times are changing, women continue to remain primary caregivers for families and this will require them to desert their families a day early. I find it offensive personally and feel like you may have missed the mark. The amount of times I hear people complain about having to leave their families is one of the reasons this industry has a problem keeping young people - especially women. March is International Women's History Month - Remembering Betty J. Burke!

In honor of Women’s History Month, Ilissa Miller <https://www.linkedin.com/in/ilissamiller/>, Founder and CEO of iMiller Public Relations (iMPR) <https://www.imillerpr.com/>, and Jezzibell Gilmore <https://www.linkedin.com/in/jezzibell/>, would like to recognize Betty Joe Burke, former Executive Director for NANOG <https://www.nanog.org/> – the North American Network Operators’ Group. Miller reflects on the profound impact Betty had on her life and career: If you don’t know of Betty – who passed away on November 7, 2022 – she was a firecracker and an industry starter enabling the accelerated development of the internet across the U.S. Betty spent her professional career as an IT trailblazer. She worked to “bring people together” to develop the Internet first through her work at the University of Michigan beginning in 1974, later through Merit Network, Inc. and as the Executive Director of the North American Network Operators’ Group (NANOG, Inc.). Her professional endeavors included management of a consortium of engineering professionals working to re-engineer and manage the first national, high speed internet backbone (NSFNET). She oversaw the build out of the State of Michigan’s largest technology center and coordinated IT conferences composed of an international membership community working to invent the Internet of tomorrow. She retired from the University of Michigan after 36 years of service in 2010. She retired as the Executive Director of NANOG, Inc. in 2018. I had the honor and pleasure of working side-by-side with Betty from 2012-2018 while overseeing sponsorship sales for NANOG. She was a mentor, a friend, a colleague and a boss – she embodied everything I always thought a leader should be. I miss her dearly. Gilmore emphasizes the incredible spirit that Betty embodied, being a driving force in the industry, while still empowering and motivating others. Gilmore recalls Betty’s soft tone of voice, calming smile, and unwavering determination that has since left a lasting impact on the internet industry: Betty was an incredible spirit who was deeply loved and respected by many in the Internet networking industry. Betty Joe Burke is an unsung hero, and one deserves much more admiration and praise for what she has done throughout her career. While our lives are our own, often the path we take is shaped by people and events in our lives. Betty is one of those quiet yet powerful leaders, whose influence shaped the Internet networking industry, and the paths of many that built the industry. Her soft tone of voice, calming smile no matter the situation, and unwavering determination not only paved the way for our generation of women leaders, but generations of talent and mindset of the internet industry. Betty was kind, passionate, persistent, creative, intelligent, and hard working. Although she took charge, she did not like to be the center of attention. She demonstrated daily success comes from relentless pursuit of your goals, not knowing how to do everything. One of the phrases that she used often, that I now use myself all the time is “We’ll figure it out”. Because she always figured out a way to make it happen. Betty was talented in many aspects, but above all else, she took the time to build up people around her. She not only encouraged me to take risks that I was too afraid to take, but she was by my side to support and guide me along my entire NANOG leadership journey. I didn’t just learn how to be a better communicator, but how to introspect and elevate my point of view as a leader. Betty was courageous. Courage is actions taken while acknowledging our fear, and in spite of that fear. Betty taught me not to fall victim to fear, especially fear of failure – don’t allow fear of failure keep you from taking actions. Our actions define who we are, not our thoughts or intentions. I am a better version of me because of the actions I had taken at Betty’s urging. Betty is deeply missed by her colleagues, family, and friends who cherish her memory and the enduring impact she made on the industry, ensuring that her influence will continue to resonate for generations to come. Endured a similar problem last year. The company I was with migrated prod to Global Accelerator, ALBs, and WAF with Shield Advanced on an accelerated timeline. Several of our customer networks were blocked in AWS's default blocklists. I have a few old netblocks that were allocated to my company back in the early 2010s that our security vendor is requiring us to either secure or remove from being registered to us. I've been unable to reach anyone at ipadmin-bell(a)att.com, and the number listed isn't connected anymore. does anyone have some contact info at ATT/Bell for getting these records corrected?
