Application management in ISP network

It is heard many ISPs are implementing or plan to implement application management facilities. With such tools/facilities, it is said they could control applications in their network, such as blocking BT, degrade QoS of e2e VoIP , or control attacking traffic. Is there anyone could tell me how many ISPs have done as above ? To my knowledge, there is few traffic management product which could work with 10Gbps links. But, ISP network is usually made up of 10Gbps links (even 40Gbps). Could current technology deal with such situation? Joe __________________________________ What is the internet to you? AT&T refuses to provide PTR records?

Anyone familiar with AT&T's policies on PTR records for their customer-assigned address space? We have a customer whose website we host that has their own in-house mail server that they run off of their AT&T internet connection at their office. We handle the DNS for their domain name. AT&T is refusing to set up PTR records for them because they're not handling DNS for the domain name. Is this normal? I haven't dug through the ARIN agreements but I thought it was required to provide reverse DNS on your allocations. Thanks, David

Contact at Micromuse/Netcool/IBM? (Related to my St. Louis NANOG Presentation)

Hello, In my NANOG presentation at St. Louis on Monday, October 9th, titled "TL1 Device Monitoring on the Cheap", I mentioned that to get in depth information on TL1, one can go to http://www.tl1.com and learn more about it. This web page was sponsored by Micromuse, who owns Netcool. Unfortunately, I did not know that the web page had been down since October 4th, 2006, 5 days before my presentation. I found the October 4th date through Google cache: http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:NuW4I_WggQAJ:www.tl1.com/+www.tl1.com&h… This date corresponds as to when IBM bought Micromuse, thus I believe IBM took the web page down. I tried emailing info(a)tl1.com, but it bounced. I tried emailing info(a)micromuse.com, but I have not gotten a response. I am at a loss as to who to contact about this issue. Does anyone on this list work for Micromuse/NetCool/IBM, or know someone who does? I don't know if I can get the web page back up, but I would like to know why IBM took it down. New IPv6 block allocated to RIPE NCC

[Apologies for duplicate mails] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC received the IPv6 address range 2a00::/12 from the IANA in October 2006. This allocation expands two previous allocations. We will begin allocating from this new space in the near future. The minimum allocation size for this /12 has been set at /32. You may wish to adjust any filters you have in place accordingly.
