Hi, when one end-customer has been using for example /24 IPv4 allocation for a while and returns this(for example changes an ISP) to LIR, then are there some good practices before handing out this same /24 to a new customer? I guess LIR should: 1) remove all the DNS PTR records, classless of classful delegations 2) check if some of the IP addresses are in DNSBL(maybe the previous customer was a spammer). Devices with only USB console port - Need a Console Server Solution

We have one of these nice new and fancy Cisco ASR920-24SZ, just realized it doesn't have an RJ45 Console port only USB. When we deploy devices at our pop we wire the console port to a terminal\console server, well that doesn't work for a usb console device. So what is everyone doing for out of band management via the console when it's a usb only device? Is there something I am missing? Is there a console server for USB? Broadband Router Comparisons

All: Not all consumer grade customer premises equipment is created equally. But end customers sure think it is. I have retirement aged customers buying the crappiest routers and then blaming my cable network for all their connection woes. The real problem is that there were plenty of problems on the cable network to deal with, so it was impossible to tell between a problem that a customer was having with their CPE versus a real problem in my network. Much of that has been cleared up on my side now, but customers were used to blaming us for everything so that they don't even consider that their equipment could be to blame. I want to be able to point out a third party list of all (most) broadband routers that rates them by performance. Or that rates them by crappiness that I can send them to so they can look up their own router and determine if other users have had problems with that router and what can be done to fix it. Youtube CDN unreachable over IPv6

Dear Google, It appears that one of the Youtube CDN's (in Europe, NL) is not reachable over IPv6 from AS 20844. Can someone get back to us on this, the company can't access any of the videos currently, although the mainpage loads fine (over IPv6). IPv4 subnets for lease?

We have customers asking to lease IP space for BGP transit with us and other peers. But they are struggling to get at a minimum even a Class C, even though they have their own ASN. We don't have large amounts of free IPv4 space to lease out to a single customer in most cases anymore. Hope to at least introduce these customers to some contacts that may be able to help. Do we know of any reputable sources that are leasing or selling IPv4 subnets as small as a /24 to satisfy their diversity needs? Thanks! Big day for IPv6 - 1% native penetration

Hi, It seems that today is a "big day" for IPv6. It is the very first time when native IPv6 on google statistics (http://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html) reached 1%. Some might say it is tremendous success after 16 years of deploying IPv6 :-) T.

Netflix stuffing data on pipe

Has anyone else observed Netflix sessions attempting to come into customer CPE devices at well in excess of the customers throttled plan? I'm not talking error retries on the line. I'm talking like two to three times in excess of what the customers CPE device can handle. I'm observing massive buffer overruns in some of our switches that appear to be directly related to this. And I can't figure out what possible good purpose Netflix would have for attempting to do this. Curious if anyone else has seen it?
