Hello Everyone, I'm assisting a non-profit organization to research solutions to secure their network from DOS/DDOS attacks. So far we have gone the route of discussing with their ISP's to see what solutions they have to offer, believing that the carriers are better positioned to block the attack from the source. It's been about 2 years in since I've heard about the concept, and honestly I'm about ready to jump into test environments at my house. My questions are pretty basic, what distro would you recommend for a controller, and should I start by virtualizing in VMWare or HyperV or jump into some cheap Linksys WRT routers. Thanks Jeremy - looks pretty good, and specific, and I like the DNS integration. I haven't downloaded or installed it yet. Do you think it's robust enough for a 24x7 Network Operations Center that has 8 or so users? Is the database a flat file that is easily backed up and restored? or are you using MySQL?
