About IPv6 performance

Dear all: I've been searching the web for tests or reports about how performance in current IP boxes (core routers, BRAS, edge routers...) is impacted when enabling IPv6, but haven't been able to find anything useful, but a couple of reports dated in 2002 and 2004: http://www.lightreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=63606 http://www.ipv6-tf.com.pt/documentos/geral/bii_v6_interop.pdf I already assume some impacts in memory for IPv6 prefixes, or CPU usage... but don't clearly see other impacts (number of sessions...). I know performance will mainly depend on which service structure is selected (PPPoE, DHCPv6...), but... could anybody point to a report that deals with all these issues? Thank you, David Pérez.

Looking for MIX/NOTA members

Hi, I know this is NAnog (Which NOTA may qualify for being in Miami) but I'm in need of help for MIX too. I'm involved with a client that had their range advertised by another AS. We were told by all parties involved that it has stopped, but I still seem to be seeing it on RIPE's MIX and NOTA looking glass. If anyone knows LG's other than RIPE that have access into MIX/NOTA (I did try HE.NET and PCH.NET, they didn't come up with the information I'm looking for) or can do a "sho ip bgp regex _13913$" and email me PRIVATELY, I'd appreciate. Linux shaping packet loss

Hi All, It would be appreciated if anyone using TC on Linux for shaping could please help with an intermittent problem on an egress interface. I'm seeing about ten per cent of packet loss for all classes at seemingly quiet times and random parts of the day using about forty classes and 250Mbps. I've isolated it to the egress HTB qdisc. Any TC experts out there have a spare minute please ? Any thoughts on the RED qdisc ? Thanks very much, Chris

Linux Network Generator

Hey list, I've been doing some stress testing of a router this week using Network Traffic Generator from http://sourceforge.net/projects/traffic/ and while it works well I was wondering what other generators you all have used and find helpful. Maybe something that Traffic doesn't do like provide response times and other stats.. tho I realize iperf would be a better app for that.

Leaving public peering?

This year I've been seeing what appears to be an increasing trend among service providers.. making the decision to leave public peering. I'm sure others on this list as seeing that trend as well. I have a couple of guesses, but I'm curious , and I wanted to get some other thoughts as to the "why". I don't have exact numbers, but off the top of my head, I'd guess somewhere around two dozen of our peers have left various peering exchanges. Quick couple I checked still appear to be operational as a company, so I'm willing to remove "death" as a valid reason. I realized that paid transit is down at almost obscene levels, but is that enough of a reason to increase hop-count, latencies, etc? Why disconnect from public mostly-free peering? -donn

AT&T blocking individual IP addresses

As of about an hour ago AT&T appear to have started blocking access to a few of our IP addresses. This is being done at a /32 level, and the IP addresses above and below are still allowed through. Has anyone seen them do this before, or know who I need to contact to get it fixed? AT&T won't talk to me as I'm not a customer...
