ARIN Waiting List Recipients Begin Receiving Allocated IPs from 131.143.0.0/16

Hello, I have noticed that the number of people on the ARIN Waiting List has been decreasing significantly recently, and some have started receiving IP allocations from the 131.143.0.0/16 range. I also found that these IPs were previously geolocated in Switzerland. Were these addresses reclaimed from an organisation? I’m curious about the origin of these IPs.

Best recommendation for out of band router access?

Hello, Obviously dial up is no longer practical for most applications. I have a some of my gear co-located in a facility in downtown Los Angeles where the idea of paying a monthly for a cross connect to get a phone line is just not practical. Can anyone recommend an idea that's not super cost prohibitive that would involve some kind of 4G or 5G Sim with a static IP address that is not CGNAT? I'm running OpenBSD for my Edge routers, so plugging in a USB is not guaranteed, so is there a product that might have some kind of a bridge functionality where it will establish a mobile IP connection and then plug into my switch? Also open to reasonably priced provider recommendations. I don't need a lot of bandwidth since this would mostly just be SSH or maybe openvpn traffic. If you know of service providers as well as recommended products, that would be ideal. I don't want to spend thousands, but a few hundred dollars on gear seems reasonable. Questions for folks ingesting geofeed, what do you use for address validation? Are non-ASCII characters supported, especially in City field? e.g. 부산 vs Busan What happens when Region field is empty? discard the line / use Country only / try to use Country + City (which may not be unique) Common parsing / validation errors? NEC 2026 changes for data/communication wiring

The 2026 National Electrical Code is ready for publication. The scope of Chapter 8 is changed from all building communication system installations, to only communications wiring outside or at the cable entrance point. Data/Communication system wiring is now in Chapter 7, which means it will be covered by general NEC requirements. For those designing data centers after 2026, many data/communication installation "best practices" will become code requirements. Probably the biggest change will "working clearances" for communications equipment in wiring closets and cabinet door openings in data centers. No more cramming equipment into shared closets or draping cables across the room. After the 2026 NEC is adopted, building code officials will be able to enforce those requirements.
