NANOGers, We are beginning our final preparations in support of NANOG 66, February 8-9, 2016 in San Diego, CA. It is our hope the following highlights and reminders will be of help to you. The NANOG Program Committee has once again presented a great program. The NANOG 66 Agenda <http://nanog.org/meetings/nanog66/agenda> is posted, with updates being provided as warranted. Consider attending, the Conference Registration <http://nanog.org/meetings/nanog66/register> will increase soon! Greetings NANOG Folks, The last two NANOG meetings (San Francisco and Montreal) set records for attendance and we hope and expect the trend of strong attendance numbers to continue for the NANOG 66 meeting February 8-10, 2016 in San Diego, CA which will be hosted by IIX, Inc. Submitter enters Abstract (and draft slides if possible) in Program Committee Site <https://pc.nanog.org/>. 1. Any time following Call for Presentations and before deadline for Abstracts 2. PC performs initial review and assigns a “Shepherd” to help develop the submission. 1. Within about 2-3 weeks 3. Submitter develops draft slides (minimally showing proposed outline and level of detail). 1. Please submit initial draft slides before published deadline for slides 2. Panels and Track submissions should provide topic list and intended/confirmed participants 4. PC reviews slides and iteratively works with Submitter to help develop topic. 5. PC accepts or declines submission 6. Agenda assembled and posted 7. Hello NANOG members! We are once again approaching the annual NANOG election and appointment time. In addition to the "call for nominations" message at the opening of the process, the following is an overview and timeline of the actual election process. We encourage those in the community who are not currently NANOG members to consider becoming members of NANOG and to consider standing for a position in our leadership. Through membership and voting, you will be an active participant in directing all NANOG activities. In early January 2015, all members of the committees agreed to the extension. 2015 Postel Scholarship Announcement

Colleagues, On behalf of the North American Network Operators' Group (NANOG) and the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the 2015 Postel Network Operator's Scholarship. The Postel Network Operator's Scholarship targets personnel from developing countries who are actively involved in Internet development, in any of the following roles: - Engineers (Network Builders) - Operational and Infrastructure Support Personnel - Educators and Trainers This is not a postgraduate fellowship or academic scholarship. Individuals may nominate themselves for the Scholarship via email or online form. The Scholarship will be awarded annually to a recipient selected by a committee comprising representatives from the NANOG Board of Directors and the ARIN Board of Trustees. The selection committee will "whimsically" select the annual recipient exclusively in response to the question: "What Would Jon Do?" if he were asked to select a recipient. The successful applicant will be provided with transportation to and from the NANOG and ARIN joint meeting October 5-9, 2015, in Montreal, Quebec Canada, and a reasonable (local host standard) allowance for food and accommodation. In addition, all fees for participation in both meetings' events will be waived. The final grant size is determined according to final costs and available funding. The chosen recipient will be advised at least 2 months prior to the fall meeting date. Applications from qualified individuals are now being accepted. The deadline for application is July 31, and the awardees will be informed by August 10, 2015. NANOG 65 - Montréal - Call for Presentations is Open!

Hello NANOG Folks, Thanks to all those who made NANOG 64 in San Francisco our largest meeting ever (by well over 25% margin)! Our 65th meeting will be held in Montréal, Quebec on June 5-7th. Our meeting sits between the DNS-OARC workshop (Sat-Sun) and the ARIN 36 meeting (Thu-Fri) so will be ripe for fruitful interaction among these various constituencies. The NANOG Program Committee is now seeking proposals for presentations, panels, tutorials, tracks sessions, and keynote materials for the NANOG 65 program. We invite presentations highlighting issues relating to technology already deployed or soon-to-be deployed in the Internet, . Vendors are encouraged to work with operators to present real-world deployment experiences with the vendor's products and interoperability.
