The NANOG on the Road series will be coming to Los Angeles<https://www.nanog.org/meetings/road3/home>on May 20, 2014. Hosted by NANOG in partnership with Los Nettos at the USC campus, the program will include research and education presentations along with relevant NANOG meeting content. Topics to include security, IPv6, research and commercial network differences, along with network tools discussion. The meeting will be held at the Radisson Hotel Los Angeles- Midtown<https://www.nanog.org/meetings/road3/home/hotel>@ USC on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. The morning will include featured speakers. Lunch will be provided, followed by an afternoon of NANOG presentations. The day will conclude with a graduate student poster session during the Closing Reception. NANOG Community- I hope everyone enjoyed NANOG 60, NANOG’s largest attended winter meeting. Fresh off a great meeting, and post our NANOG Icelanta Reception, we are ready start the process for NANOG 61 in Bellevue. NANOG 61 will be NANOG’s 20th year serving the network operator community and helping to make the Internet better. Colleagues: In partnership, the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) and the North American Network Operators Group (NANOG) will bring ARIN+NANOG on the Road to San Diego, CA on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. The one day event will be held at the Handerly Hotel & Resort. 2013 NANOG Committee Selections

NANOG Colleagues, The Board has completed the committee selection process for this year. For the Program Committee, we are pleased to announce the reappointments of Greg Hankins, Manish Karir, Michael Sinatra, and Tony Tauber, and the new appointments of Peter Hoose, Randy Neals, Matthew Petach, and Steven Schecter for two-year terms. In addition, Paul Ebersman and Sean Kennedy have been appointed to one-year terms to fill the positions vacated by Dave Temkin and Ryan Donnelly on their election to the Board. For the Communications Committee, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Randy Epstein and Brad Raymo for two-year terms. And for the Development Committee, we are pleased to announce the two-year term appointment of Judy DeDois, Tim Parker, Michael Rascoe, and Valerie Wittkop to two-year terms, and Fearghas McKay to a one-year term to fill the position vacated by Jezzibell Gilmore on her election to the Board. We also want to thank and recognize the contribution of Jim Cowie, Ryan Donnelly, Igor Gashinsky, Mohit Lad, Dave Temkin, and Dani Roisman for their service on the Program Committee, Valerie Wittkop and Webster Olson for their service on the Communications Committee, and Paul Ebersman and Jezzibell Gilmore for their service on the Development Committee. And finally, we want to thank everyone who volunteered as candidates for these committees for considering this important service to our community, and encourage them to try for the next selection cycle or to volunteer in another role. Greetings NANOG Colleagues, As usual for our October meetings, there has been a lot happening with our elections process, and there will be more announcements to come over the next few days. First, a huge thank you to our Executive Director, Betty Burke, our NANOG Secretariat, Florencia Dazzi, Anabel Martinez, Celia Clark-Worly, the Verilan Team, and our technical event coordinators Tim Pozar and Matt Peterson for a world-class event in Chandler. Elections Our annual election was held during NANOG 59. Ryan Donnelly, Jezzibell Gilmore, and Dave Temkin were each elected to two-year terms on the Board of Directors. All proposed amendments to our bylaws also passed, thank you! In addition, the Board appointed its officers for the coming year. Chair - Michael K.
