hi there, I am trying to find out what everyone is using nowadays for performance monitoring. Thousandeyes, Perfops, Ripe Atlas, Cedexis are some common stuff I have used in the recent past to see DNS/CDN performance , anything new out there that is worth giving it a try specifically focusing on distributed DNS performance? Hurricane Michael: Communications restoration status

39 deaths in the US, at least 15 deaths in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador After 12 days, most wireless service is restored in Florida. It took over 6 months to restore wireless service across Puerto Rico/US Virgin Islands. Today, Oct 22 2018, Verizon Wireless reported wireless services has been restored throughout the area. AT&T Wireless reports 99.9% wireless service restoration. T-Mobile reports service restored or temporary solutions in place. FCC Status Reporting Cellular service: Bay County: 103 cell sites out of service (29.7%) Gadsden County: 12 cell sites out of service (19.4%) Gulf County: 6 cell sites out of service (26.1%) 55,006 wireline and cable customers are reported out of service. 1 TV, 7 FM and 2 AM broadcasters reported out of service.

GGSN/PGW to LNS recommendations

Hi ! I'm looking for a GGSN/PGW implementation that would act as a LAC, to re-encapsulate PPP sessions into L2TP tunnels to some LNS already deployed for traditional IP-ADSL collects. The iHeartMedia radio station is one of 77 PEP radio stations across the country and the second to have added modernized emergency studio facilities. Enhanced studio capabilities were completed at WJR(AM) in Detroit earlier this year, according to Manny Centeno, FEMA’s NPWS program manager. The upgrades include increased sheltering capabilities, expanded broadcast capacity, and sustainable power generation for all types of hazardous events. GTT IPVPN - Vienna - Circuit offline since maintenance.

Hi everyone, We've have a IP-VPN circuit that has been down for the past 15 hours or so in Vienna. We are receiving the routes from the GTT BGP but we cant reach the equipment itself. GTT have confirmed a backbone issue but they have been unresponsive since. Anyone is aware of issues? Anyone from GTT can reach out off-list to figure out the status of the incident? Thanks

verizon wifi calling stopped working

I have a couple of customers in a /23 (possibly a /24) seemingly random that aren't able to get to MSN.com - this is http://msn.com not the win32 app or O365 and such. Would there be someone that can reach out to me offlist to take a look at this? So I decided to respond to a message earlier - was the first time in quite a while on the NANOG list. Like, we're talking maybe 3-6 months since my last post? This afternoon I get an e-mail from Brad Lovelace <brad(a)networkequipment.net> asking me if I have cisco, juniper, etc to sell to his company, claimed I have done business with him before (even though I've never sold any equipment to them, nor have we ever communicated before - my e-mail archives go back to 1996 or so). Isn't the first time I've been contacted by a networking gear vendor after they 'mysteriously' got my e-mail address (shortly after I posted a comment here) as someone who was interested in their wares. We may have someone scraping e-mail addresses and names from the nanog list - don't suppose the mods might be so gracious enough to look at the sub list and see if anyone from networkequipment.net is on here?
