Two things to keep in mind when updating IOS on this router: 1) IOS 11.0 is the minimum IOS that has been tested for Y2K compliance 2) You only have 4MB of flash, so you may have trouble finding an 11.0 image to fit in that space, considering that you may be running multiple protocols on it. You have 6MB of RAM, and 4MB of flash. IP images and IP/IPX images will fit into 4MB of flash, but anything beyond that (Desktop, which is IP, IPX, ATalk, DEC, etc), IP/IPX/IBM, and IP/IBM all require 8MB of flash. Fire: South Korea Financial District

There was an underground cable fire in the main financial district in South Korea. Several banks and at least one ISP lost high-speed telecommunications service from Friday through Sunday. Although only 33,000 lines were affected, due to the location, they tended to be the very high value lines. A full investigation has been promised. Speaking of full investigations, has anyone heard whatever happened to the investigation into the fire at the telco central office in Toronto's financial district last year?

Issue on establishing local/private IRR database

Hi, We plan to establish a local/private IRR in order to control the RS in our local/private IX, but we are quite puzzled by the relationship of the local IRR and RADB. Can anyone answer my following question ? 1. Is partial database ok, and enough ? Because we run only a domestic IX, so i think we need only maintain the RPSL database of our domestic ISP, and we need not mirror the 5 standard IRRs, such as RADB, CW, RIPE, RPSL database. 2. The relationship between our local IRR, and standard IRRs. Once we establish the local IRR via IRRd of MERIT, shall we register all the data of local RPSL database in one of the global registries,such as RADB ? Will RADB accept our local IRR, and start to mirror our data ? Or our data exist only in our local/private database, and no one care about us (it seems this scenario is little away from the spirit of global IRR) regards, Yu Ning Networking Dep.
