Friendly contact at Comcast about possible RF leaks

Anyone know a friendly contact at Comcast regarding possible RF leaks on their HFC plant? I'm not a Comcast customer, so I can't get in via front line support (not that it would probably do me much good, anyway), and I'm not looking to lodge a formal complaint or anything. I just want to give a heads-up about some issues I've noticed locally that haven't been addressed for a while and hopefully let things get addressed. I'm in Central Indiana, if anyone wants to try to route me directly to the right people. A general contact is fine, too. -- Brandon Martin

We have 9 ASR's so I don't think it would be too hard to host them in the GNS3 vm insurance we're using. The main problem I've run into is our IOS isn't supported, which is where Cisco IOSv comes in, hoping it could be configured in a way to act very closely like our deployed hardware. I'm not so much worried about hardware faults, more so network configurations and testing of new methods. In a perfect world I would be able to copy the running configs from deployed hardware into GNS3. At least that's how closely I would like GNS3 running. Not a ton of info out there on IOSv, so I'm curious as to how it's configured. If it's the "universal" IOS that I would imagine it should be, then it could work. Hello, I'm currently in the process of setting up a near identical network to our own in GNS3 for testing purposes. Has anyone here tried this before to any success? We need to buy the Cisco IOSv image to continue with the sim so I figured I would inquire here first before diving in. All info is appreciated, -- Ryland Kremeier

Twenty-one years ago today, Jon Postel passed away in Santa Monica, CA. Almost all of us get to do what we do today, because of his vision, guidance, and leadership. He is one of many giants on whose shoulders we stand today (some are still active here in NANOG), but he was the compass that guided most of us. BGP Enabled transit in Chicago (River North) and equipment recommendation

I have a need for a BGP enabled connection in the River North section of Chicago. We have a small number of IP blocks that we want to use. Currently, we have some equipment at 350 E. Cermak (Steadfast Networks) and are looking at downsizing and bringing stuff in-house. Our bandwidth requirements are miniscule (10MB/Sec is fine). I know RCN offers business cable-modem service but probably not BGP. Also, we’d like to ditch our 3640 router in favor of a smaller “desktop” size router, but none of them seem to do BGP (not surprising). Any recommendations on hardware would be welcome as well

Comcast outages continue even in areas with PG&E power restored

The FCC asked a half-dozen carriers about their network resilience plans last month. Comcast was not one of the service providers askedd about their plans. The FCC should have looked closer at Comcast in California. While it was expected many people would loose home Internet, voice, video service when their Customer Premise Equipment lost power. The FCC no longer requires battery backup for CPE. That is now a customer responsibility. It turns out, Comcast's outside plant was woefully unprepared to handle long, i.e. 24 hour, power outages. Are other cable OSP resilience similar?

Provider IPv6 Deployment

Can anyone share resources on deploying IPv6 in a provider network? Most all documentation I find is from the customer perspective; which is great and all, but what about setting up dhcpv6-pd, what about the relay agent, or what about an equivalent of dhcp option 82? Nich
