Good quotes on importance of good network addressing

I'm doing a presentation and white paper to convince a bunch of people that network addressing is one of (if not the most) important aspect of network design and management. The goal is to convince them that we need a plan, which will probably require them to do some renumbering. I'm looking for a couple of good quotes to include in the presentation. Anyone got some good ones from some Internet/network luminaries? Something to confirm the importance of a generally boring topic. Thanks. Pete.

Once a network reaches a certain size, it is very difficult to simulate it in a lab. Number of routes/updates, variety of packet destinations, different card revisions and layouts... heck, even statistically, you have problems. An issue that appears 5% of the time will only show up in a a 10-router test lab half the time, but in a 400-router network it'll pop up on about 20 routers and wreck your whole day. And when you're out of cash, you can't really afford to devote lots of hardware to a lab. I'm not saying that their testing procedures were correct, or that they tested the image as well as they could have... but the assumption that, if it blew up in the field it must not have been tested at all probably isn't accurate. -Dave

redistribute bgp considered harmful

Should the Service Provider version of routing software include the redistribute bgp command? Other than CCIE labs, I haven't seen a real-world use for redistributing the BGP route table into any IGP. If the command was removed (or included a Are your sure? question) what would the affect be on ISPs, other than improving reliability by stopping network engineers from fubaring a backbone?

Ralph, What you are asking for is dynamic routing protocol to be able to tell you how to do something locally scoped. This is why we have redirects on ethernets. But, since you must do this with BGP, try this... Are the tickets closed yet? I'm tempted to call in and see if I can get a grasp of the scope and nature of the problem. But maybe it would be best if someone simply posted a brief summary of what is publicly known about the issue....to be followed by resonable speculation peppered with some wild speculation. Really, the only way this could happen is if Router B is not announcing its routes to 172.16.16/24 and Router A has a default route to its Ethernet interface.
