ATT Voice Call Routing Issues

Anyone on the ATT voice side of things able to reach out off list? We’re seeing inbound call issues from AT&T and firstnet phone numbers across multiple providers. Outbound calls have no issue. So far we’ve had no success with normal channels of support. The calls are dropping after five seconds, but they do initially make it through and you can have a few seconds of audio if you answer quick enough. If you don’t answer, you’re get a recorded message that says your call could not be completed as dialed and then gives an error code of “message six US01LV” Thanks John Stitt Sr. Network Engineer HES energynet Sent from my pocket CRAY-1

Shaping the Future of ICP-2: Community Input Extended to December 2024

NANOGers - In October 2023, the Number Resource Organization initiated a process to undertake a significant update to Internet Coordination Policy 2 (ICP-2); the policy which specifies the criteria for establishing new Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). The Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) has been tasked with managing the revision process, emphasizing community engagement and transparency. The ASO AC has drafted a document which outlines the principles for the proposed ICP-2 Version 2 policy, and this document is available online for review here - https://www.nro.net/policy/internet-coordination-policy-2/proposed-icp-2-ve… The ASO AC is actively seeking feedback from the Internet number resource community and the broader internet community on these proposed principles. At this stage, comments are being solicited on the principles themselves, rather than specific amendments to the text of the document. This collaborative approach aims to refine the principles before drafting a revised version of ICP-2 for further stakeholder input. To facilitate community engagement, there is a questionnaire seeking feedback that available in multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. The questionnaire is designed to gather diverse perspectives and can be completed in approximately 7–10 minutes. Recognizing the importance of comprehensive community input, the deadline for input has via the questionnaire has been extended to 6 December 2024. Tom hit the nail on the head of my points, a lot of multiplayer video games are hosted on a server in a hyper scaler, AWS for example, or players can make their own PCs/Consoles the game server as well. Lobbies are formed, goal is get 20 people into the lobby with minimal rtt to game server and minimal standard deviation in each player’s rtt to game server compared to the rest of the lobby to have as equal of an experience as possible amongst all players. However, there can be players in rural areas or beyond networks with not as fast of an RTT to these hyper scalers like AWS where they are the odd player out. What this results in is a player waiting much longer to find a lobby of players with comparable rtt to them. Even worse, they will probably get put in a lobby where their standard deviation in rtt is still higher than everyone else. Imagine a FPS (first person shooter). Player 1 and Player 2 are facing each other ready to fire. Player 1 has 10ms rtt to game server. Player 2 has 20ms rtt to game server. In real time, player 2 hits the trigger first, but due to higher latency, player 1 in game time kills player 2 first.
