FYI, There seems to have been a momentary power loss at Telehouse @ 25 Broadway. Initial reports indicate that there was some form of UPS failure that has since recovered, impacting some or all of the 5th floor; PDU 400.1 seems to have been one of the impacted devices. Regards, - Tim

L2 Broadcast/multicast limits on ethernet ports

We are looking into deploying the L2 broadcast/multicast limits on the ethernet ports of foundry switches. If anyone has case study or deployed it or any experience and don't mind sharing , will be very appreciated. Regards KS

More clues. It seems that everytime I ping with the 0000 pattern the controller counter: rx_soft_overrun_err=27473, increments. I am having a problem witha DS3 that terminates into a Adtran CSU (T3SU-300) and then into a 7200 with HSSI. I can not ping with a 0000 data pattern and I experience packet loss and errors when I pass TCP traffic. Adtran recommended an attenuator. What is the issue here? BGP Load Sharing

I am hoping to learn from the great pool of experience on this list. We currently have 2 OC3 connections going to 2 seperate providers. We are using netflow statistics to balance our traffic flows (which outgoing is our major concern). Flow tools, snmp output, some custom scripts, and some bgp weighting does the trick. We are in the process of upgrading to Cisco 12012 GSRs, and adding additional connectivity. We need to find something we can use to do the same type of thing on the 12012 GSR. The custom scripts work fine.. but it appears some line cards don't support netflow. 1) Is there an open source software that will assist us in load sharing? 2) Are there specific cards we need for netflow on a 12000 series? Is the difference based on Line Card Engine (0,1,2,3,etc)? 3) Is there an alternate way to control outgoing traffic flow to multiple upstreams using bgp (besides splitting the address range up and blindly pointing chunks to each provider)?
