How much and why they deagg will vary but *hand waving argument* it'll be a lot more pressure on routing table size than people doing PI You get one shot at fixed prefix size filters, miss and you'll pay forever. One could also take a look at Radio.Unfix. ---------------------->8 And of course never forget the marvelous VideoLAN Client (VLC) and there are a lot of other tools available that can do similar things. It is one of the main reasons why we have, at least experimental, multicast supported by various SixXS PoPs. The overlay nature of Tunnel Broker setups, and relatively small scale, make that possible. Larger setups, like at ISP's, will be quite a bit more troublesome, which is also one of the reasons that Multicast is still marked experimental, as I still need to finalize the code for doing it in a scalable manner... Using ECMH (http://unfix.org/projects/ecmh/) or mrd6, which copied that same system, getting IPv6 Multicast connectivity is relatively easy. Hooking up to the m6bone can be a bit difficult, but definitely possible. Talk to the folks at the m6bone lists (http://www.m6bone.net) and they will get you sorted for sure. Something quite cool is that the Holy See (aka The Vatican :) is streaming various things onto the m6bone reaching a lot of people that way. Greets, Jeroen

Sorry to interrupt the v6 chaos discussion, but I figured that this might be of some interest to folks on the list. Since the IESG, IAB, etc. has forward this to the RFC Editor queue to be published as an Informational RFC, I think is a good thing. One thing, however, that troubles me, is the title -- which I think is somewhat misleading. While I think it is a fine and thorough document, it is really not about mitigating TCP SYN flooding attacks, really, but more about lowering the threshold of pain. Port 1080 probes from AOL

One of my virtual web host servers have been getting multiple probes to TCP port 1080 (socks) every day for months from AOL IP addresses. Is AOL known to be doing something relatively innocuous on that port? I ask because I have portsentry null routing IP addresses that make probes like this. TIA, James Smallacombe PlantageNet, Inc.
