Announcement of Experiments

Hi NANOG, We are a group of researchers from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden). Starting from May 9 until May 31, we plan to conduct a research study involving AS-PATH poisoning to measure how reliable route collectors are to report BGP poisoned routes. We will use the PEERING Testbed [1] to announce the following two prefixes: - 184.164.236.0/24 - 184.164.237.0/24 for our AS-path poisoning experiments. The above experimental prefixes do not host any production services, hence user traffic will *not* be affected. Furthermore, we will always start the AS-PATH with the correct ASN as the origin. Lastly, to keep the AS-PATH short, we will announce no more than four Poisoned ASNs per announcement. The frequency of the announcements will not exceed four per hour. ok mark got it currently we are using the following DPCE Cards DPCE-R-4XGE-XFP DPCE-R-Q-4XGE-XFP When we tried using the command set chassis memory-enhanced route on the current Junos version 10.4 it says the command is not supported so we will need to upgrade the Junos to the newer version in order to try above command of it. Ready to compromise? was RE: V6 still not supported

Dear all Following advice from thus list, I updated the YADA I-Draft (latest is https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-thubert-v6ops-yada-yatt-03.html, more to come soon if feedback is heard) and proposed it to the v6ops WG at the IETF. For memory, the main goal here is to find a compromise as opposed to yet another transition solution, though it can be used as a side effect to move along the ladder. The compromise does not change IPv4 or IPv6, tries not to take side for one or the other, and add features to both sides which, if implemented, reduce the chasm that leads to dual stack and CG-NATs. There's value for the movers, lots more public address space for the IPv4-only stack/networks and free prefixes per node and new deployment opportunities for the IPv6-only ones. One major update from the original text accounts for Dave's comment in this list on BCP 38 enforcement, I believe it's solved now. I also added format layouts to Abe Chen's question, and text on the naïve version vs. all the elasticity that exists there and in IP in general to allow real world deployments. OARC 38 will be a two-day hybrid meeting held on July 30th and 31st, 2022 starting at 10 am (Eastern). The onsite part of the meeting will be co-located with IETF 114 (Philadelphia). The Programme Committee is seeking contributions from the community. All DNS-related subjects and suggestions for discussion topics are welcome. For inspiration, we provide a non-exhaustive list of ideas: - Operations: Any operational gotchas, lessons learned from an outage, details/reasons for a recent outage (how to improve TTR, tooling). - Deployment: DNS config management and release process. - Monitoring: Log ingestion pipeline, analytics infrastructure, anomaly detection. - Scaling: DNS performance management and metrics.
