Paraguay International Connectivity Questions

Looking for some information regarding international connectivity from Paraguay. We are looking to start up a new business down there and we were told that the international connections from Paraguay are not reliable and all of the only external connections from there have go through Argentina. I would assume this would apply to Public Internet as well as private networks (MPLS, etc.). - Is this true? - Does anyone have a map of the external connections from there, similar to the submarine map <http://www.submarinecablemap.com/>? - Or other data (BGP routing tables that would show traffic transiting via Brazil or Bolivia)? - Is the international connectivity really that bad down there?

What's the best way to find the networks in a country? I was thinking of writing some perl with Net::Whois::ARIN or some such module and loop through the block. But I think I'll have to be smarter than just a simple loop not to get blocked and I figure I'm not the first to want to do this. I've noticed some paid databases out there. They don't cost much but are they even worth what they charge? Ie, countryipblocks.net doesn't list quite a few addresses from a country I've looked at blocking. Isn't this information free from the different *NICs anyway? This is probably two questions: a program that smartly looks for country's blocks in a block and are GeoIP services worth anything?

What software solution do people use for inventory management for things like riser/conduit drawdown, fiber inventory, physical topology store, CLR/DLR, x-connect, contracts, port inventory, etc. Any experiences in integrating workflow into those packages for work orders, modeling, drawdown levels, etc. /vijay

Hi, I was going through this database[1] looking for office facilities/buildings with 10gbe carriers POPs already present, but only datacentres are listed. My requirement is low cost 10gbe connectivity to any London datacentre where I could either get either low-cost few racks hosting+partial transit.. Well multiple 1gig links might be ok too. I am sure there are already large office blocks with multiple 10gbe carrier POPs or am I? Maybe it is possible to save costs and time by choosing office with built-in good connectivity rather than wait months and multiple permits to dig the road etc..? Mailman reverting settings

Hi Everyone, Has anyone ever seen Mailman revert to an old user list? This morning we had out lists VM pounded on from India and hung the box. After blocking the ip on our firewall and rebooting the hung vm, everything came back up except 1 list. The list appears to have reverted to old settings. I found the config.pck file and it does not have the current settings in it. This has happened once before. The box is running Ubuntu 10.04 and Mailman 2.1.13. Anyone know what would cause this and how to fix it? We are working to try a file level restore from a backup. High throughput bgp links using gentoo + stipped kernel

Hello Everyone, We are running: Gentoo Server on Dual Core Intel Xeon 3060, 2 Gb Ram Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82571EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06) Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 03) 2 bgp links from different providers using quagga, iptables etc.... We are transmitting an average of 700Mbps with packet sizes upwards of 900-1000 bytes when the traffic graph begins to flatten. We also start experiencing some crashes at that point, and not have been able to pinpoint that either. I was hoping to get some feedback on what else we can strip from the kernel. If you have a similar setup for a stable platform the .config would be great! Also, what are your thoughts on migrating to OpenBSD and bgpd, not sure if there would be a performance increase, but the security would be even more stronger? Kind Regards, Nick
