Ransom DDoS attack - need help!

All, I've been a NANOG member for many years but I'm emailing from an anonymous account to reduce the chance of the attackers finding me. A company that shall remain anonymous has received a ransom DDoS note from a very well known group that has been in the news lately. Recently they've threatened to carry out a major DDoS attack if they are not paid by a deadline which is approaching. They've performed an attack of a smaller magnitude to prove that they're serious. Based on certain details that I can't reveal here, we believe the magnitude of the upcoming attack may be in the several hundred Gbps. I would really appreciate help in a few areas (primarily with certain provider contacts/intros) so we can execute our strategy (which I can't reveal here for obvious reasons). If you email me off-list with a name/email that you've previously used on-list, I will reply from my real email. Alternatively, if you can post your experiences on-list with large scale high profile ransom DDoS attacks, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks

Sling TV Geolocation

Yet another geolocation post, because content networks don't pay attention to geofeeds... :-) Anyone know who Sling TV is using for geolocation, or have a contact at Sling that can help? We acquired a /19 in July that we just started pushing out to customers, it is still geolocating back to the previous owner on Sling TV, despite publishing the prefix in our geofeed. Checked the usual lists with no luck. Thanks, Tim

NANOG 90 Venue Update

Dear NANOG Community, This letter is an update on the upcoming NANOG 90, February 2024 conference. As we announced at NANOG 89, due to unforeseen circumstances, our contracted meeting venue canceled our contract and it became necessary for us to change the venue and date for the upcoming NANOG 90 meeting (12-14 February 2024). This has resulted in the delay in posting the hotel guest room information as we work to negotiate an agreement with a new property. The delay has been due to the hotel network infrastructure, which is not at the level NANOG requires to support its network needs. We are happy to report at this time a solution has been developed, and contract signing is underway. Once the contract is completed, there will be a room block we will publish for registered NANOG conference attendees to begin booking rooms. The room block will be available to all one week later. Raritan DSX8 - possible to "un-brick" ?

Sorry for posting to the list, not sure where else I could ask this… Anyone have experience with these ? This is the older / EOL DSX serial console product. I have a DSX8 that seemed to happily take a firmware upgrade, and after boot hangs at a specific point in kernel output every time. I opened the case and as expected everything is soldered (no CF card or anything “easy”). They didn’t seem to put any kind of boot loader / rommon on these, so I’m not even sure if it’s possible to unbrick. Replies off-list highly encouraged as I don’t want to contribute to off-topic noise etc. Thanks.
