Issue with Geolocation in Virginia US

Team, We are having issues in our Virginia US office & it shows geolocation in all browsers as Canada instead of US region when we access news.google.com in our PC. Our public ip is 129.46.232.65. Hi Guys, Except for the email on ARIN's details, does anyone else have a contact for the DoD? We are experiencing a situation with a 3rd party (direct peer), wanting to advertise DoD address space to us, and we need to confirm whether they are allowed to do so or not. QUIC traffic throttled on AT&T residential

I've AT&T fiber (in RTP, NC) (AS7018) and I notice UDP QUIC traffic from google (esp. youtube) becomes very slow after a time. This especially occurs with ipv4 connections. I'm not the only one to notice; a web search for e.g. "Extremely Poor Youtube TV Performance" notes the issue. I assume traffic is being throttled on AT&T's side. And it's not done with their CPE; I'm bypassing their NAT box and connecting my laptop directly to the ONT. A quick google search shows people are aware that QUIC can look like DoS traffic -- but how widely known is this problem? It may become worse if / when sites transition to HTTP/3 For now I reject UDP 443 on the client firewall. Applications using QUIC client libraries then fallback to TCP. This works well and I have no issues with latency or throughput when using TCP. May I naively ask if Google staff are working with AT&T to address this? -- Dan

Has Anyone managed to get Delegated RPKI working with ARIN

Hi Nanog, Posting here since my Google-fu is coming up short. I'm trying to setup delegated RPKI in ARIN using rpki.net's rpkid Python daemon and am running into an issue submitting the identity file to ARIN's control panel. The same file submitted to RIPE's test environment at https://localcert.ripe.net/#/rpki works without issue, while submitting to ARIN results in "Invalid Identity.xml file." The guide I'm following is this one: https://github.com/dragonresearch/rpki.net/blob/master/doc/quickstart/xenia… and I'm able to get as far as generating the identity file. Wondering if anyone has gone down this road before and has any helpful hints to make this work? Cheers, Chris

Hi Folks, While in the US soon all Firefox users will *NOT* use your DNS Recursives configured using DHCP anymore (NXDOMAIN use-application-dns.net to avoid that[1]). Next to that, it seems some of the root operators are now creating instances in the same networks that offer these kind of services for globally figuring out what queries are being made. For those that thus either opt-out or otherwise want to use their own system resolvers, I suggest that all that run DNS Recursive setups enable "QNAME minimization" as defined in (experimental) RFC7816 [2] For pdns "qname-minimization=yes" [6] For unbound "qname-minimisation: yes" [5] For BIND "qname-minimization" option [3] and [4] Of course, do also provider your users with the option of using DoT or even DoH on your recursors... Noting that DoH operators are supposed to enable RFC7816 also [7], guess they do not want others to see all the details they get... Some more details in DNS Privacy Wiki [8]...
