Howdy network operator cognoscenti, I'd love to hear your creative and workable solutions for a way to track in-line the configuration revisions you have on your cisco-like devices. Let me clearify/frame: You have a set of tested/approved configurations for your routers which use IOS style configuration. These configurations of course are always refined and updated. You break these pieces of configuration into logical sections, for example a configuration file for NTP configuration, a file for control plane filter and store these in some revision control system. Put aside for the moment whether this is a reasonable way to comprehend deployed configurations. What methods do some of you use to know which version of a configuration you have deployed to a given router for auditing and update purposes? Remarks are a convenient way to do this for ACLs - but I don't have similar mechanics for top level configurations. About a decade ago I thought I'd be super clever and encode versioning information into the snmp location - but that is just awful and there is a much better way everyone is using, right? Flexible commenting on other vendors/platforms make this a bit easier. Assume that this version encoding perfectly captures what is on the router and that no person is monkeying with the config... version 77 of the control plane filter is the same everywhere.

Are DomainKeys for e-mail signing dead?

Apologies if I slept through prior discussions on the topic. E-mail from our L-Soft LISTSERV was recently rejected by Yahoo with the following error: #####(a)YAHOO.COM Last error: 5.7.9 554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy reasons. See http://postmaster.yahoo.com/errors/postmaster-28.html I note: 1. The e-mail error (5.7.9) references the link http://postmaster.yahoo.com/errors/postmaster-28.html. 2. That Yahoo page does not mention error 5.7.9, but references a similar error 5.7.4 "Message not accepted for policy reasons." 3. It appears that Yahoo wants inbound messages signed using DomainKeys technology. 4. Yahoo is the lead inventor of DomainKeys, along with Cicso, PGP, and Sendmail. 5. L-Soft LISTSERV manuals and Yahoo both refer to the website http://domainkeys.sourceforge.net/. 6. When I click on the Documentation and DomainKeys Implementors Mailing List links on that page, I get page not found. 7. A 2007 USA Today Article (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/tech/products/cnet/2007-05-23-domainkeys-ant…) mentions that DomainKeys have not been widely adopted. 8. A basic Google search for DomainKeys comes up with no recent articles. One website (http://blog.wordtothewise.com/2011/09/dkim-is-done/) says that DKIM/DomainKeys are dead. Peering issue - Possible Juniper to Cisco issue

To all, I (ASR1001) had an experience recently where the Telco (Juniper) told me that I was sending them 1000+ routes when I attempted to re-establish a BGP session; subsequently they would not allow this and they refused the session. I had no sync on and a prefix list so I was advertising only one route. Even though I hard reset the session on my end the Telco for some reason kept seeing me send the routes. I finally called them and had them reset their end and the session came up right away. What the ... thx Philip

Hello, We send periodic 10-15Mbps bursts of traffic to a business partner and it appears to transition from Cogent to Century Link in Atlanta.
