Cruzio peering

Cruzio in Santa Cruz recently opened a new coloc facility using a newly installed fiber connection (I believe they share this with UCSC, I am not sure who "owns" it in practice). Which in theory should be good news for the Monterey Bay Area which has been without fiber connectivity before. I would like to know with who they're peering with in San Jose and who their provider(s) is or are. Any other information is welcome. Single AS Number for multiple prefixes in different country

Hi, We have an AS Number AS2XXXX and have 2 /24 subnets belongs to this AS Number. It is using in US and peering with US Service Providers now. We are going to deploy another site in Asia, can we use the same AS Number AS2XXXX and have 2 other /24 subnets and peering with other Asia Service Providers? Will it affect the routing or BGP Path of our existing subnets in US? Please advise. Thanks Harris :-)

Cisco Nexus 5000 with 4G FC module - initialization ?

Hi, I got some trouble to get the 8-port (4/2/1 FC module) up and running in a Nexus 5000. The module itself is shown in the inventory but when I want to have a detailed look on an interface than there is no option "Fibre Channel". Is there anything else to do with this module (activation, initialization, etc. ?) Thanks Thomas

Is NAT can provide some kind of protection?

We have wide range of Public IP addresses, I tried to assign public ip directly to a server behined firewall( in DMZ), but I have been resisted. Security guy told me is not correct to assign public ip to a server, it should have private ip for security reasons. Is it true that NAT can provide more security? Thanks, Tarig Yassin Ahmed

INDOSAT Internet Network Provider NOC Contact

Hi all, Sorry for the noise, but I was wondering if anyone has a NOC or BGP knowledgeable contact with INDOSAT Internet Network Provider (AS4761). I have emailed the hostmaster@ email address listed in the WHOIS contact, and tried calling the phone number listed as well (disconnect message). They are announcing one of our prefixes and I am trying to find a contact in their company who can fix the announcement. Tim

co-location and access to your server

Cruzio in Santa Cruz recently opened a little co-location facility. That makes two of such facilities in Santa Cruz (the other being got.net) which could be a good thing for competition. Their 1U offer comes with limited access to your server, only from 10AM to 6 PM. I find that not acceptable. Why wait until 10 AM when a disk breaks at 8 PM? But maybe I am being too picky. What is considered normal with regards to access to your co-located server(s)? Especially when you're just co-locating one or a few servers.
