We had a discussion today about IPv6 today. During our open thinking the topic of client equipment came up. We all commented that we have not seen any consumer grade IPv6 enable internet gateways (routers/firewalls), a kin to the ever popular Linksys 54G series, DLinks , SMCs or Netgears. Does anyone have any leads to information about such products (In production or planned production)? Stood on the cliff above Pipeline (famous surf spot) and couldn't tell if the water washing up the beach was normal winter surf or a tsunami. Other parts of the island may have seen more, though. Resonance is everything with these types of waves. Many cables land at Kahe on the west side of Oahu and Kawaihae on the Big Island, the opposite side of the islands from the direction of the wave. No calls from the NOC, so no trouble AFAIK... ;-) scott

Hi Not sure if anyone here is looking for some (extra?) work, or knows someone with an IT support business or just someone who is currently unemployed and looking to work on (initially) a part time basis? I'm looking for a freelance support/network engineer with experience of Redhat/CentOS, as well as preferably Cisco and Juniper (and possibly OpenBSD) to work with us supporting our US and UK operations Why freelance? Spamcop Blocks Facebook?

So I start trying to figure out why my facebook account keeps saying my e-mail is invalid, when I know it isn't. I look at my mail server and see it's all running just fine, and have been receiving mail from others just fine... so I tail the log and tell Facebook to re-confirm the address... They also very likely have loading coils on loops like that, and although I confess that I've never seen one of those coils with my own eyes, I've heard that they are rather bulky in terms of physical dimensions, probably bigger than a repeater PCB. The problem is that these mid-span access points are property of the ILEC along with the rest of the loop plant, and although there probably exists an ILEC-internal procedure for installing mid-span repeaters for T1s and maybe ISDN BRI, that is most certainly done by the ILEC itself, not by any third parties. Making it possible for a third party to access those intermediate points to install repeater equipment which the ILEC won't understand (handling Covad's non-standard flavor of SDSL/2B1Q) is the problem I'm trying to solve. MS
