With seventeen very well-qualified candidates and eight open positions, it was a difficult decision to make. The SC, with input from the current PC and the community, felt it necessary to form a balanced PC, with a diversity of backgrounds, knowledge, and experience, and one that is representative of the entire NANOG constituency. The SC would like to thank outgoing the PC member Keith Mitchell for his valuable contributions while serving on the PC. Additionally, the SC is grateful to the eight candidates who volunteered their time but who weren't selected. We hope they will all consider volunteering again next time. One of the first action items for the SC (as per 6.1 in the Charter) is to appoint a new chair to serve for a one year term. After holding a vote, I would like to report that I have been accorded the privilege of being chair of the NANOG SC for the next year. As incoming chair, and on behalf of the new SC, I'd like to thank Philip Smith for his exceptional leadership in the last year as outgoing SC Chair, as well as thank him for his service to the community as member of the SC for many years. I would also like to extend the SC's significant thanks to Randy Bush for his long history of valuable contribution to NANOG and the SC during his term of service on the SC. Both he and Philip have put in enormous time and energy to help NANOG be what it is today. They leave large shoes to fill. ATT dns admins

It looks like ATT has delegated some networks to our DNS servers. We need to get those changed and have no idea on who the contacts are. Are there any ATT dns admins that can contact me offline? Thanks, Patrick Felt

Cisco interface - GB of transfer software

Good morning all, I hope my post isn't too off topic but I was wondering if anyone is using some open source or purchased software that would give me the monthly Data transfer from cisco switch ports so I can monitor/bill against some hosting customers. I know we can create our own but looking to see if there was something that anyone is using and recommends. Thank you very much Dale Turner

Eircom connectivity issue

Hello. I've ran into a puzzling scenario and I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone else has an idea. I have a customer who operates a server on our network who informed me that a customer of his out of Ireland is having connectivity issues to it. The ISP in question is Eircom, and the block that seems unreachable is 86.40.0.0/13. Any trace to an IP in that block drops off the Earth at the edge of the Tier 1 provider that we connect with, such as AT&T and Sprint. I've also tried Level3, but the traffic goes over to AT&T in the end anyhow. I've checked Level3 and Sprint's looking glass and performs a traceroute from there, and I get the same result, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with our network. I'm at a loss and my customer told me that his customer has already contacted Eircom and they are at a loss to explain the disconnect as well. Does anyone have some insight into this? -- Philip L.
