Trust me, the error rates on sites would vary widely, especially because you cannot assume a standard / uniform population of people sending mail to these sites. People who mail IETF lists, and people in asia, sending mail to a local list server in the rDNS-less desert that is some parts of APNIC land, might have completely different perceptions on the issue. Now, from your logs, just how much legitimate mail do you get that comes from an IP without PTR RR, and how much is that expressed as a percentage of legitimate incoming mail to your lists? How much is that as a percentage of spam inbound to your list [to be fair, let's make it "spam that would not have been stopped by your other filters]? srs

At the end of the day, this kind of public accusation is a waste of our time because we don't really have the tools to determine which side is telling the truth. In this case, I am fluent in French, and I spent 15 minutes or so, browsing http://www.linux.fr. It appears to be a legitimate *public* portal for people who are promoting the use of Linux in the enterprise. Nothing on that site claims authorship of Linux and I even stumbled across one forum message that made it clear that Linux is based on the GNU toolset. What is clear is that both http://www.linux.fr and you http://www.fr.scguild.com are trying to offer directories of IT consultants among other things. Could it be that you would rather divert the common resource (a domain name) for your own profit rather than let someone else do the same? Hopefully you and AFNIC http://www.nic.fr can take this silly dispute offline where it belongs.

If you go to http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/tutorials/esp/ it says this: Create an ESP Group and subscribe your work email address and your home email address. Make a change to your calendar at home - and the changes will be synchronized with your calendar at work! Presumably this means that it will synchronize the standard iCal files used by products like Mozilla Calendar and Apple's OS X iCalendar. A quick bit of googling shows several universities are using Eudora in conjunction with a calendaring program called Meeting Maker. --Michael Dillon

Need some info on network management

Hi, I am a Post Graduate student from India and network management is my area of interest. I have been browsing through the net on different network management tools available in the market. In all of them, accounting management which is one of the FCAPS functionality is not supported on any of the NMS's. So I thought it would make sense if I contact a network operations group regarding this. Can you please throw some light on the following - 1. Why is "accounting" not part of most of the NMS's? 2. What do service providers use for billing their customers? It would be great if you could help me on this. Thanks a lot for your valuable time! Monumentous task of making a list of all DDoS Zombies.

Is there a list maintained anywhere of all hosts that have been identified as a DDoS zombie? Or attack box? We got hit with an attack from more than 60 IPs last night and I'd like to add them to any list that anyone has started. Thanks, -Drew
