Microsoft.com attack?

Anyone aware of an attack on www.microsoft.com? I had a customer machine that was attacking it, looks like either a bug in Microsoft's SP4 (coincidentally this started the day after this was installed) or there's some new(?) worm of some sort causing this ?? It seems to come with a message attachment of "message.zip". I have had like 4 users call and tell me that they're receiving email from admin@ourdomainname with a unidentified attachment, possibly a worm that exploits the new Microsoft vulnerability last week, all 4 of these people reported that their updated this morning antivirus software missed it. FYI.

I haven't had time to look, but just for my clarification, why was IPv8 not pursued further. I remember there was a discussion on IPv6 vs IPv8 and the argument to go directly to IPv8 instead, but I had to drop out from following the discussions since. Anyone remember the outcome? One could reasonably assume that at the point where the Internet shifts to IPv6 as the core protocol, more than half of the interfaces with an IPv4 address will also have an IPv6 address. So to get to that point, one could make some assumptions about the allocation of IPv6 /48's based on the observed trends in IPv4 /32's. I'm not sure where one would take this, but I think a lot of people would be interested in seeing some type of well-presented analysis of these questions. --Michael Dillon

I see here almost no home > users who need > more than /64.. Read RFC 3177, it recommends /48 so that users get given enough space to never have to worry. We cant predict what will happen in 15 years, so we shouldnt put artifical limitations on this. And includes reasons as to why that was decided upon. Its such a shame that a lot of companies want to restrict innovation by insisting that consumers will only want or need a single ip addres or subnet. Or that people only ever need to access web sites with their net connection. This seems especially so in the states and aus.
