Telus (AS852) problems ?

Anyone else seeing any problems with Telus (AS852) tonight ? This morning an IGP config typo (dont know many details beyond that) black holed a lot of routes for me and now I only see 30 prefixes from them. From their route server (route-views.on.bb.telus.com) I dont even have a path back to the other side of the router I peer with route-views.on>traceroute 209.115.141.1 Type escape sequence to abort. Tracing the route to toroonzddr00.bb.telus.com (209.115.141.1) 1 * * * Yet I can see it from my side... Perhaps more IGP issues ? I have been stuck in the phone queue for some time now, so perhaps someone on the list might know whats up ? Could someone from Bell Nexxia contact me offlist

I'm having a routing issue where anyone on the Bell Nexxia network can't connect to my web server, but they can get to every other IP address on the same network. Need help with ~100Mbps layer2 or 3 to Alexandria/Egypt

Hello, We have been tasked with finding ~100 megs of IP transit in Alexandria/Egypt. Options; 1. Lease E3 circuit between Italy or any location within the oceanic fiber route or direct IP connectivity in Alexandria. 2. Cost is a big factor, ofcourse. two questions

I have seen some router cpu questions. I know this is not the place for router questions specifically could someone pass on the name of the group for cisco users I remember there was one. Also does anyone happen to know if the cisco fast E fiber port interoperates with off the shelf tranceivers properly ie fiber to cat 5? Thanks

Rain storm in Northern California

There's a really strong rain storm in the Bay Area (California) with the usual thunder, lightning and strong wind. The only kicker is that approximately 300,000 customers are without power. So expect some data centers and businesses to be on UPS right about now. Crossing the Benicia bridge tonight was a bit scary, the car was getting pelted with strong wind, rain and I think hale, or gravel? High Processor Rates on Routers.

Ladies & Gentleman. Was wondering if it is common for processor rates on higher end Crisco boxes to race from 1 or 2 % show on the 5 second processor rate interval, to anywhere from 70 to 90 %, instanteously, then drop back down to 1 or 2 % after 10 seconds. The above mentioned scenario would happen every 30 seconds. The higher end boxes are very lightly loaded, with total traffic throughput of maybe 100 Meg, in some cases. Think that if these boxes are loaded more, to the point where the aggragated throughtput approaches a Gig, this will cause the processors to run at high levels constantly, driving the CPU rates indicators on the box for 1 & 5 minute intervals up to the values mentioned above. ( 70 to 90 % ). Higher end devices would be something like 7200, 7500, 12xxx series routers. This scenerio would be in a large ( very large network, atleast a tier 2 OR tier 1 provider )... possible rebutals to the fact that processors could race like mentioned above on lightly loaded devices of a higher end nature would be that BGP scanner is causing the problem, Telnet to the devices, show config when on the devices... So what happens to the processor rates when the devices are more heavily loaded ( 1 G aggragated throughput opposed to 100 Meg throughtput )? Will the devices work worrectly AND would a large internet be stable ? Is it also common for BGP Routing tables to be changing version every 1/2 second ? Same high end routers, lightly loaded, large Autonomous System. Thank-you for your time on this query.
