I just got half a hundred of these (and 123 of these last Friday) and all e-mail, to the usual locations, bounces or gets ignored. I am livid, I am pissed, I am *really* wanting to SMURF PSI.NET because they have been a spam-harbor for *years*! No one noticing it crashed. I'm really surprised more providers haven't figured out one way to keep people from posting about their outages is by setting up peering agreements with NDA's and then keeping the other providers informed about problems. Of course if there isn't an NDA or they learn about the outage from other sources, they are free to inform the world about the outage. Oh well, another Sprint exec Gerry Degruiter is going to stop by next week. I hope he can tell me why our Sprint line failed last November, no one else has been willing too. Christian & NANOG in general: Our apologies for the BGP problem. We turned down our peering with UUNET today due to serious routing problems in Raleigh NC. When our NOC personnel reestablised the peering, they failed to utilize the peer-group that includes all of our outbound route filtering. Additional documentation and training will be implemented Monday - in the interim any BGP alterations will be performed by Backbone Engineering. Thanks for the correction. I have never heard of these cities so I tried. Both of these outages were reported by WCOM. There are two major routes from Philly to DC. One of these routes are between Pittsburgh and DC and the alt route is between NY and DC. Remember, these are reports from WCOM. CJ Vince Fuller wrote: > > I have a report from my NOC. Major WCOM Fiber cut in Ohio

Our CLEC (Time Warner Telecom) tells me that there is some type of major fiber cut on the WCOM network in Ohio. This is affecting our ability to dial LD (without a PIC code) as well as inbound on our 888 number (which is actually switched by Qwest) and several other long haul circuits. There seems to be multiple outages (some providers have said fiber cuts) around the country.
