I have a customer who's suddenly been getting 403's today on AWS hosted sites. My google-fu seems to be failing me because I can't seem to find any information on who manages that on their side or how to fix the issue. I've sent an email to amzn-noc-contact(a)amazon.com based on ARIN contacts, but it doesn't seem to be a responsive address. Has anyone had to navigate this particular maze before? Looking for historical AS1239 Sprintlink on-net site lists, POP lists, etc

If anyone has on-net site/POP lists for AS1239 that are at least 8-10 years old or older, I'm wondering if I could get a copy. Obviously nothing that anybody signed an NDA for, maybe some people out there have some spreadsheets or text files that were shared by Sprint sales persons many years ago. This is related to some information I am gathering to improve documentation of what will apparently become part of Cogent in the Pacific Northwest, with T-Mobile's sale of sprint's wireline business. -Eric

It's "fun" to run their new go based responsiveness test on the conference wifi: https://github.com/network-quality/goresponsiveness - especially with two or more people at the same time. Hotel wifi is *even* more fun. in-Bar 5G comparing it (or the new speedtest app which is also measuring roughly the same things) to 4G, oh my! Would love it if more folk tried it and shared data! Also: https://github.com/Zoxc/crusader is shaping up, and has a staggered start test now. And of course, there's always flent. This was the reply I got from ARIN to my inquiry: Hello George Absolutely out of region organizations can establish an Organization ID and record with ARIN. They should be asked if it is for reallocation purposes and once that is answered affirmatively then ARIN will create the record. ARIN ORG ID for non-ARIN region company

Hello, Does anybody know if it possible to create ARIN ORG ID for non-ARIN region company? We are LACNIC region based. In LACNIC as well as RIPE regions the RIRs allow creation of ORG IDs for non-region companies for purposes of IP reallocations, etc. (e.g. IPv4 lease, etc.). I have gone to ARIN ORG ID registration page but it says only ARIN region companies can register in ARIN. We need this for purposes of IPv4 reallocation of our IPv4 leased subnets so also the contact handles are reallocated to us. ARIN asks me to pay for creation of ORG ID, but I would lose the payment if the request is denied. We do not plan to request any resources, no ASN or IP resources will be requested through that ORG ID, it's only to allow for full IPv4 reallocation (including contact handles). Here is a reason you might want to keep that /24. Suppose you are a small ISP and I am your customer. I also have another larger provider. That larger provider is also your provider. I own a /21 and advertise it to my larger provider. You get that /21 from my larger provider. I advertise a /24 subset of the /21 to you. If you ignore my /24, then traffic for it goes to the larger provider and I pay him for the traffic, not you. Regards, Jakob.

CLEC lawfirm recommendations?

Hello NANOG'ers, I hope this isn't too far off-topic: I'm wondering, does anyone have any recommendations for a lawfirm that will help a newbie through the process of becoming a CLEC? I understand that it can take years, and am prepared for that. Specifically in San Jose, California. I'm trying to determine (by trial and error) the theoretical minimum cost of running a tiny neighborhood FTTH + very-short-range fixed-point wireless ISP for residences that don't have fiber for no good reason at all. https://mplink.llc/img/mplink-v0.1-pencil.jpg Have gear, some funds, conflict-of-interest exception, and a smidge of clue. Even have the first run of fiber already pulled (via quickly-cancelled AT&T Dedicated Internet). Just need https://clec.att.com/ access and somewhere to put my gear on the other end of the line.
