Greetings, We have asymmetric routing issues from Microsoft TORIX connection between Microsoft and CANARIE and Microsoft and SHAW. We are sending traffic via Cybera-CANARIE-Microsoft ( SIX ) and receiving via Microsoft-Shaw-Cybera ( SIX ). if anyone from Microsoft is available please contact me offline. Twenty-one years ago today, Jon Postel passed away in Santa Monica, CA. Almost all of us get to do what we do today, because of his vision, guidance, and leadership. He is one of many giants on whose shoulders we stand today (some are still active here in NANOG), but he was the compass that guided most of us. BGP Enabled transit in Chicago (River North) and equipment recommendation

I have a need for a BGP enabled connection in the River North section of Chicago. We have a small number of IP blocks that we want to use. Currently, we have some equipment at 350 E. Cermak (Steadfast Networks) and are looking at downsizing and bringing stuff in-house. Our bandwidth requirements are miniscule (10MB/Sec is fine). I know RCN offers business cable-modem service but probably not BGP. Also, we’d like to ditch our 3640 router in favor of a smaller “desktop” size router, but none of them seem to do BGP (not surprising). Any recommendations on hardware would be welcome as well

Comcast outages continue even in areas with PG&E power restored

The FCC asked a half-dozen carriers about their network resilience plans last month. Comcast was not one of the service providers askedd about their plans. The FCC should have looked closer at Comcast in California. While it was expected many people would loose home Internet, voice, video service when their Customer Premise Equipment lost power. The FCC no longer requires battery backup for CPE. That is now a customer responsibility. It turns out, Comcast's outside plant was woefully unprepared to handle long, i.e. 24 hour, power outages. Provider IPv6 Deployment

Can anyone share resources on deploying IPv6 in a provider network? Most all documentation I find is from the customer perspective; which is great and all, but what about setting up dhcpv6-pd, what about the relay agent, or what about an equivalent of dhcp option 82? Nich

lots of traffic starting at 3 a.m. central time

Anyone else see lots of traffic coming down starting at 3 a.m. central time ? all of my internet connections showed strangely larger load for a few early morning hours. I have some info that tells me what it was but wanted to hear it from others too. -Aaron
