OK, I should clarify this. The description that is on that link I put in my original e-mail doesn't actually describe what is happening, but that is the error they spit back at me. What really is happening is that the url that is in my e-mail and when you reolve it to an IP, if you do a reverse lookup on that IP, it comes back with a generic DNS entry that my colo provider has assigned to it. So the issue seems to be that the reverse DNS entry and the domain name don't match. But this isn't really an issue, a lot of providers do it this way. swiss (zurich) colocation recommendations for a US company...

I am doing a bit of expansion into Europe and simply need a good datacenter in Zurich where I can put in a single 1u piece of equipment (for now). I got a quote from init7.net for $400 for the 1u equipment and 5 mbps, or $300 for 2 mbps. Is this a reasonable cost of doing business in switzerland, or am I not finding a good low cost provider ? If not, any suggestions on a high quality, well connected place in Zurich that I could put a single 1u piece of equipment ? AOL Lameness

Is anyone else noticing new AOL lameness that when you send an e-mail to an AOL user and if the e-mail has a URL in it but the reverse lookup of that url doesn't come back to that domain name that AOL's postmaster rejects it and gives you this URL: http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554hvuip.html This has to be new policty for them because it never rejected them before... Even with ILECs, there're regulated (FCC reportable) and unregulated (not required to report to the FCC) services. You'll never get providers to say to your list, "Yep, we had problems. West Coast Fiber Cut?

Anyone know much about this major west coast fiber between Los Angeles and Washington that was supposed cut this morning? Our network is having gnarly problems through one of our providers and lesser ones through the other. Investigation went on for about 2 hours, whereupon i finally received an email from InterNAP talking about the problems starting at 9:45AM PDT, and being rooted in this fiber cut. My other provider has since told me that it was a Qwest fiber, and that most major transit providers were using it. Anyone heard anything else about this? Thanks, Rick Kunkel
