Text Messages being blocked by AT&T

I am having a problem that started last Friday. Text messages sent from my domain seem to be being blocked by AT&T. Does anyone have a direct contact at AT&T who might be able to assist us in getting unblocked? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer. Ronda

Nah what you describe is a different invention. Someone probably already has a patent on that. The browser will do a DNS lookup on slashdot.org and then cache that - forever (or until you restart the browser). Yes it will ignore the TTL (apps don't get the TTL at all, so apps don't know). Same happens if you ssh to yourserver.someplace.com. One DNS lookup, the traffic sticks there forever or until the session is terminated. DNS is horrible for this. If they had a IPv4 internal private network going you would not need to hook unto the DNS at all. Just get IP address when something wants to be routed out the WAN port. Also the NAT table is a good indicator of when you can release the address again. On other words, that would work, but the system described in the patent app wont. Of course both systems are useless. I can not imagine any end user that wont have a ton of IPv4 going on for the next decade to come. And when time comes, we are more likely to NAT64 than this. 'gray' market IPv4

Where is one of these v4 markets that we can buy some IPv4 space from? I would prefer to have a place where we could see recent transactions, something along the lines of x amount of addresses for y amount of monies. Google search is failing me for some reason.. - Thanks, Nich

Hotels/Airports with IPv6

It’s my understanding that many captive portals have trouble with IPv6 traffic and this is a blocker for places. I’m wondering what people who deploy captive portals are doing with these things? https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-wkumari-dhc-capport seems to be trying to document the method to signal to clients how to authenticate. I was having horrible luck with Boingo yesterday at RDU airport with their captive portal and deauthenticating me so just went to cellular data, so wondering if IPv4 doesn’t work well what works for IPv6. Overlay broad patent on IPv6?

I was recently reading a few IPv6 patent, and happened upon on developed by Wesley E. George, Time Warner Cable Inc. on the topic of Use of dns information as trigger for dynamic ipv4 address allocation. It seems to impact the allocation of the IPv4 & IPv6 address for the gateway router, software defined consumer CPE, UPNP, CGN, content-based network, residential broadband networks; DSL networks; fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), fiber-to-the-node (FTTN), or fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) networks; wireless Internet service providers (WISP)(fixed wireless to replace home broadband, typically in rural areas); or indeed to any situation with an on-demand IPv4 connection and dynamically assigned addressing. In-rack DC distribution

Mornin’, I’ve been looking for the holy grail of in-rack A/B DC distribution, unfortunately without much success so far. In a perfect world, I’d have the equivalent of what we know and love about 0U vertical AC distribution rails (i.e.: APC), except with A/B feeds - lots of outlets, takes up no space in the rack, managed, remotely switched, etc. I’ve only found one vendor who makes such a beast for the DC world, but the breakers are manual - if it trips, or if you need to cycle it, you're rolling a truck. The beauty of this though is that it can take the gambit of breakers from 5A-200A. I’ve also been looking for something in the 1U world with A/B feeds. GMT panels are super high density, but GMT fuses are limited to 15A, so something that had small breakers (solid state, maybe??) 5-40A would be the holy grail there. Again, managed, remotely monitored per input/per output, remotely switched or reset would be the holy grail. Does anyone know of anything like this out there anywhere?
