Dear nanog members, JPNIC - Japan Network Information Center is now soliciting your input about the situation of website blocking all over the world, especially from the viewpoint of copyright infringement. In order to cope with vicious infringements, the Japanese government is considering countermeasures including the legislation of website blocking, alleging that blocking technologies are already being operated in many countries and regions of the world(*). JPNIC wants to grasp the real situation of the world. Microsoft Express Routes woes...

This is classic....... We have a direct BGP peering session to Microsoft using Express Routes for the public peering session for services like Email, one drive, etc. this uses MS Public. We also have/use MS Azure Public as well as MS Azure Private in place for a few years now. We have had this happen a few times already where one team at MS makes a routing change, and the other team is either not aware of the change, or else doesn't communicate the change properly. So late last night, while a change was being made to a completely different area of our network, they asked that I back out my change due to our entire organization not being able to access share-point online, or MS One drive. Has anyone did an audit on the route table's received from MS over express routes, vs what they receive from their ISP's and noticed the differences? MS needs to seriously think about: Careful coordination of routing changes Policies to prevent specific routes being advertised while larger blocks are advertised over express routes. Anyway I am tired, as I have not had much sleep, any comments on this, would like to hear from you. -Craig

Verizon\MCI Real Estate Department

Does anyone have a contact at Verizon\MCI's Real Estate department? Their web site is rather consumer-focused and has no mention of anything related to that. Nagging them on Twitter has been a dud as well. They have a fiber route through my family's property (from a Williams pipeline) and I'm trying to verify the easement information on record is what they have as well. Hi All! The 29th DNS-OARC Workshop will be a joint workshop combined with CENTR-Tech and will take place at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on October 13th and 14th 2018. The Workshop's Program Committee is now requesting proposals for presentations. All DNS-related subjects are welcome. A timeslot will also be available for lightning talks (5-10 minutes) on day two of the workshop for which submissions will be accepted on the first day of the workshop, until 4pm. The second afternoon of the workshop will start with a Members-only session which will include reports on DNS-OARC's activities. If you are an OARC member and have a sensitive topic that you wish to present during that session those can be accommodated. The Members-only session will be followed by the AGM. Tunable QSFP Optics

Does anyone know if any Single Mode QSFPs exist on the market that use wavelengths other than 1310nm (either self tunable or factory tuned)? I am looking to put more than one 40gb link on a fiber pair similar to using DWDM OADMs for 1g & 10g but can't seem to find any qsfp optics that don't use 1310nm. Thanks. Regards, Mitchell T. at&t business ipv6

dear lazynet: sorry to ask an end customer question here, but we're at a bit of a useless point, with actual clue being blocked by an account rep. i have at&t gig fiber at home and it seems to be a pd /64. works fine. at the office, we have at&t business 1g fiber going into an arris. behind it we have a cisco asa with five lan segments. only ipv4 is enabled. i want to enable v6 in the office, but can not find out what at&t is providing. i would hope something such as a pd /56 with a static allocation. after all, we pay through the nose for five static v4 prefixes. anyone been to this movie and care to divulge the plot? thanks randy
