Gigaswitch is a crossbar-based _packet_ switch. I recall reading fairly comprehensive article on its internals. Most likely it is still available from somewhere on Internet. If i understand correctly, its ATM interfaces do packet shredding/reassembly. --vadim

Sprint NAP

Hi There, I know that this is a little off-topic, but I was wondering if anybody could give me any pointers on who to contact to get into the sprint nap... we're bringing up OC3c to Ameritech NAp and a concentrated-FDDI connection into MAE-East, and while we're running through the east coast area we though we'd get into the sprintnap as well... Any info would be appreciated. Exchange point stats info

I was wondering if someone who knew something about the current status of the group(s) that were working on a standard data collection format for exchange point statistics, could speak up. It seems to me that operators could still get valuable trend information out of published data from exchange points. However this data would be more useful if compared accross multiple exchange point, as there are at least 40 in north america alone. (Although most of those are smaller exchange points.) Operational issue (Mae-west)
