Unfortunately, it came to our attention that it was going to take much longer for Ameritech to move the circuit (alot longer actually). Therefore we had to abruptly drop the connection to the NAP until this move is facilitated. ELI will turn back up the link as soon as Ameritech can get the move completed and will contact peers who wish to reestablish peering with AS 5650. ELI has already converted PAIX and Mae-West from Priori's AS10303 to ELI's AS5650. If you need further information on this, please send mail to peering(a)eli.net and we will respond accordingly. The Priori network has ceased to exist and what *remains* of the network has been folded into the ELI network. There was no money that changed hands. There was no requirement to upgrade imposed by Cisco. The conflict that Sean cites is wholly internal to the company running the network. If operations insists that a box not be rebooted even though the network is not operational, that sometimes leaves the network engineer in a difficult position: they can't repair the problem and they can't repair the problem. At the same time, the command was installed so that Cisco could actually test crash procedures. [Yes, you do have to test them. Yes, it helps if there is a deterministic and constant way of testing them. ;-) ] Thus, from Cisco's viewpoint, this was simply exposing an existing mechanism. Tony

I was wondering when this was going to reach NANOG. Right now all there is is a lot of speculation. No "real" info. FWIW, Sprint outage

Don't know if its a fiber cut, or what, but Sprint has at least a DS3 down in Wilksboro (sp?) Illinois, took out two of our private T1's with them...running from Louisville to Cincinnati and Louisville to Nashville...doncha just love telco routing? Anyway...no ETR yet...don't even know what the actual problem is, whether its a fiber cut, or equipment dying, or what.
