Google Geo Location Issues

I'm looking for a contact, email, number, smoke signals for someone at Google I can talk to on geolocation issue. For some reason Google has labeled our IP ranges as Belarus when we're located in the states. Beta Starlink with a slight tree obstruction vs degraded DOCSIS3 last mile

I thought I would post an interesting comparison between a degraded DOCSIS3 link, of a carrier that shall remain nameless to avoid embarrassing anybody, and a starlink CPE with a slight 1/12th tree obstruction in a portion of its view. First two screenshots are the docsis3, to its gateway and to a very reliable hosted asterisk system in Seattle. Anyone have an idea how to get HE/ShadowServer,org servers to stop attempting to penetrate the comcast drop at my house? Their website claims altruism.. but my logs dont support that claim. Scott

FCC Proposes Ban on Devices Deemed a Threat to National Security

Today, June 17, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission voted to request comments on proposed rules that would protect against national security threats to the communications supply chain through the equipment authorization and competitive bidding programs. https://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-proposes-ban-devices-deemed-threat-nationa… The NPRM seeks comment on a proposal to prohibit all future authorizations of communications equipment that has been determined to pose an unacceptable risk to U.S. national security, as identified on the Covered List published by the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. The Commission also seeks comment on whether it should revoke prior authorizations for any equipment on the Covered List and, if so, the procedures it should use to do so. Finally, with regard to the FCC’s competitive bidding rules, the Commission seeks comment on whether to require applicants who wish to participate in FCC auctions to provide additional certifications relating to national security.

Can somebody explain these ransomwear attacks?

Not exactly network but maybe, but certainly operational. Shouldn't this just be handled like disaster recovery? I haven't looked into this much, but it sounds like the only way to stop it is to stop paying the crooks. There is also the obvious problem that if they got in, something (or someone) is compromised that needs to be cleaned which sounds sort of like DR again to me. Mike

Finding vulnerabilities and how to exploit them to run malware in closed source code is nigh on impossible. Anyone can read open source code. What is possible is to analyze patches to figure out what was fixed and then to attack those that didn't apply the patches. Even easier is old releases. Patches often have more than one fix, but a patch for an old release is almost guaranteed to be a fix for a single vulnerability. That makes it easier to analyze. Regards, Jakob.

Noggers, Having some O365 DNS issues, looks like we are getting directed to EMEA instead of US. Anybody understand O365 A record location syntax? Any one else have issues being directed to EMEA? Is there a direct MS O365 DNS support number? I have the O365 biz support? Mike
