Any Wave/Astound clue on the list?

Going on 12 hours on an outage that is due to a power outage somewhere. According to the Wave/Astound NOC, generator(s) were on the way 6 hours ago… If you could hit me up offlist, i can give you the master ticket number. I’m having a hard time figuring out why it takes 6 hours to get a generator up and running in Silicon Valley. Thank you in advance for any help. -Mike

Last undersea Internet cable connecting Vietnam with the world breaks down

https://en.vietnamplus.vn/last-undersea-internet-cable-connecting-vietnam-w… Since February 10 when telecommunication firms took technical solutions and opened up more data flows on land-based cables, the Internet connections have been improved and 50% of international Internet capacity has been restored. Nguyen Hong Thang, Director of the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority, said that a coordination board was established to monitor measures responding to the submarine cable incident. Notably, besides applying technical measures, telecommunications firms also quickly opened more connection capacity on land cables to ensure service quality and interests for Internet users despite high costs, he said.

Cloudflare contact?

I work with DuckDuckGo, and earlier today our macOS browser (which is currently available via the App store now) started getting caught by Cloudflare’s bot/fraud system. We did a fair amount of debugging, it appears to be some kind of browser/UA fingerprinting. This is happening for pretty much anyone using our browser, anywhere in the world, when browsing cloudflare powered sites. My hunch is this is accidental, but since we have no direct contacts at Cloudflare, we’re having a hard time escalating this. Thanks John

CHI-NOG 11 – (Chicago Network Operators Group) May 11th, 2023 in Chicago, IL The Chicago Network Operators Group (CHI-NOG) is a vendor neutral organization. Our goal is to create a regional community of network professionals by presenting the latest technology trends, enabling collaboration and providing networking opportunities. CHI-NOG will be hosting its eleventh annual conference on May 11th, 2023 in downtown Chicago. For more information on the conference please see the event's page ( http://chinog.org/chi-nog-11/) The CHI-NOG Program Committee is seeking proposals for presentations on relevant networking technologies with the focus on the following topics: - AI Networks Technologies (RDMA) - Network Planning/Capacity Modeling - Quantum Optical Networking Research - Network State Verification - Network Automation / DevOps / CI-CD - Internet and World Events - Advance BGP / MPLS Technologies - Public Cloud Networking - IXPs/Peering/Interconnection - Chicagoland Network Infrastructure - WISP Network Architecture - Low Latency Networks / Financial Networks - 5G Slicing - Network Security - Network Observability Session Format Each presentation is 30 minutes, which includes a question and answer time. The duration can be extended per individual request to 60 minutes and will be considered by the program committee. Presentations should not contain any marketing material and should avoid discussion of commercial products but rather focus on the underlying technology in a vendor neutral matter.
