Hello, Does anyone in the ML have experience with 6WIND's VSR platform for private cloud / on-prem? The feature set sounds very good in the EVPN-SR domains. It also sounds a bit like the Fast, good, cheap venn diagram. If so, please let me know your thoughts in regards to support, stability, warnings. Warm regards, Mark

DPA looks like MED on drugs. Not sure operators want remote downstream ISP's arbitrarily choosing which of their peering interconnects (and backbone links) carry traffic from source to them. BGP is a poor communicator of bandwidth and shilling cost, in general. Those kinds of decisions tend to be locally made, and permitting outside influence could be a rather hard sell. It reminds me of how router vendors implemented GMPLS in the hopes that optical operators would allow their customers to build and control circuits in the optical domain in some fantastic fashion. Or how router vendors built Sync-E and PTP into their routers hoping that they could sell timing as a service to mobile network operators as part of a RAN backhaul service. Some things just tend to be sacred. Mark.

OpenAI access blocked

If there's somebody that knows which geo list Open AI uses (or somebody from Open AI is on the list) - can you please contact me off list. Our ranges seem to have been blocked from accessing the API and platform management tools. We can access the chat demos, but that is all. Regardless of the account or authentication data we get the "oops" screen, which from reading the forums looks like a geo / vpn blocker message. With all respect to the many helpful people that normally reply with Pro forma responses: 1. Our data is all correct with all the sites listed on the Brothers WISP geo page 2. We do not provide VPN / TOR exit nodes or anything else - it's just a corporate network 3. We've not seen any attack traffic or any other reason that would justify Open AI blocking us. 4. This is the hex dump of the attribute: “E0 1C 00” It is described here. https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6790#section-5.2 This attribute is deprecated, but that does not prevent routers from originating it or passing it on. University of Michigan shuts down school’s internet connections

Only interesting for this list because of NANOG's history with MERIT and UofM. Long since separated. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/29/politics/university-of-michigan-cyber-incide… The University of Michigan has been without full internet access for two days after staff shut the school’s connections down in response to a “significant [cyber]security concern” on the eve of the new school year. The internet shutdown affected campus IT systems used for research and fundraising, and could delay financial aid reimbursements, the university said Monday. Campus computers are generally cut off from the public internet, but students were finding workarounds via their cell phones. An updated statement Tuesday afternoon said staff had made progress in helping students access resources from off-campus computer networks, but that the recovery was ongoing.
