Google corporate network - could someone please help me?

Some web users, connected to a number of corporate networks, are getting results that are not consistent with other users' experiences. One of these corporate networks is Google. IPv6 Linux Server Support

Hi there. Has anyone compiled a list of pros/cons on various flavors of Linux specific to IPv6? I realize that's a really broad question.. Specific example would be that we're primarily a CentOS shop - during some testing today found out that connection tracking is broken in 5.6 version (after all kinds of Google hits). I understand 6.0 (recently released) fixes this issue. I have not seen this issue in Debian for example to date. Any input would be appreciated - my question isn't regarding which version folks like better, it's specifically what version works best in an IPv6 server related environment. Thanks, Paul

Just like the song: "...you know is sad but true..". ISPs and a few vendors offers IPv6 cappabilities as an add-on on its commercial portfolios. For the static v6 address assignment, applies the same. Even if for users represents advantages on having it's own unique address (i.e. in order to enter the Web or apps service providers world for their own), as so for ISPs to perform some network administrative tasks. I favor static prefix assignation over dynamic, but also I think that for some time (more or less until vendors and providers recovers invertion and operation costs) this will be a "expensive product" to adquire. *Daniel Espejel Perez *

I had to deal with this Exact problem last week. Never got EOIP to work, Spent hours on it. I had to use a "GRE Tunnel" Which is the same thing. And is only available under RouterOS 5.x+. Came right up when EOIP wouldn't. I don't know how to peg the problem. As PPTP, EOIP, GRE...etc All use the GRE protocol 47. So you would think they all would show the same problem. I never even attempted to contact comcast support as I wasn't about to spend another 3 hours explaining my problem only for them to say they aren't blocking anything and it must be my side.. I have a customer that I am providing redundant paths to, one link over a microwave connection, and a backup link over a Comcast Business Class Connection. Everything on the Microwave link is working fine. On the Comcast Connection, I have a Static IP from Comcast, and I want to setup a vendor specific GRE tunnel (Mikrotik EoIP) from my NOC to the Comcast Static IP Address. It looks like the SPI Firewall inside the SMC Gateway required by comcast is blocking the GRE packets, I'm basing this on the fact that when I power cycle the modem, I get 1 ICMP Packet through the GRE Tunnel while the modem is booting up, then it stops again. I have gotten to Tier2 support who swears that all Firewalls on the SMC Gateway are disabled. As a workaround, I was able to establish a PPTP tunnel to my NOC, however it seems like the tunnel will only run for a few hours, then becomes slow to the point of being unusable. In my mind this would be no different than setting up a permanent VPN back to a corporate office, which I would think happens all the time, so I'm not sure why I'm running into issues with it. Anyone with Insights or comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Nate Burke

Change in NANOG IPv6 Address

Hello Everyone: The correct and updated IPv6 address for the NANOG list is 2001:1838::cc5d:d48a. Forward and reverse records are updated and the other address will continue to work while the DNS change propagates. Regards, Mike
