TE lab testing flushing out how TE works, configured a primary and backup tunnel between PEs, both directions. Primary is dynamic and backup is explicit, initially priorities were the same, I then choose to make one tunnel preferred over the other adjusting the priorities, I choose the tunnel that was backup to become primary to watch the traffic shift. (primary path was P1-P2-P3, backup path P1-P3). However, the traffic did not shift, a manual shut on a P3-P2 interface made the traffic shift, reintroduction kept the traffic on P1-P3, then a "mpls traffic reoptimize" moved the traffic back to P1-P2-P3. Obviously the preferred MPLS tunnel is still P1-P2-P3 even though I configured "tunnel mpls traffic-eng priority 1 1" on P1-P3 and "tunnel mpls traffic-eng priority 7 7" on P1-P2-P3. Hi, Could you give me the relevant configs explaining why when I traceroute to 12.83.43.9 on route-server.ip.att.net, the first hop is " j6300.cbbtier3.att.net (12.0.1.202)". However, when I type "show ip route 12.83.43.9", the RIB shows, "* 12.122.83.91, from 12.122.83.91, 7w0d ago". I asked someone who is knowledgeable about the matter, and he seems to think that you can change the interface which sends back ICMP unreachables, but I don't know how to do this on my own simulated equipment. Also, I have noticed that when I traceroute to any ip address on the internet from my home connection, the last hop that's in common with all traceroutes is 12.83.43.9. This is a hop after several hops which seem to be filtered. What is the purpose of this IP? Are there any publically available documentation that would help me understand the process of aggregating multiple DSLAMs, etc on my at&t u-verse connection? Halo, First, I accept this might not really right list for request, have use nsp cisco list but only first post to was succeed, sent several other for past 4 day and none appear (verified by list archive) so please excuse request. I am in need of a cisco config for BGP setup, we have a require to include IX peering at new location as well as our Verizon link, we like to take full bgp from Verizon and send to IX what they send us, I spend days reading google, and so many conflict web site example, so many example seem insecure no prefix list so on. end result to date is only sore eyes, would someone who do same (not need be Verizon) be kind to send us off list working running config (yes without your password heh) or at least how to apply to BGP router including access/prefix list and interfaces so we have an idea on what do, if you take two full BGP feed from two transit carrierin load share and IX, that good, because that our stage three plan, but I can work without two transit. I am not ignorant with cisco 7201, but am total newby to BGP. Best Thanks Edwardo
