TOR Question

Hi, There was a thread on Nanog in January about TOR and deep buffers (http://seclists.org/nanog/2012/Jan/966) I have a follow-up, related question. Has anyone used a TOR switch to aggregate connections to from major network providers? For example, 2 or more 10GE ingress connections (pick your favorite CDNs) into one 10GE egress back to our router (which is at a remote location). We are worried that queue buffers are too small to handle the traffic going to the egress port. Thanks, Joe Lappa

Technical contact at XO/Concentric

Hi, If anyone from XO/Concentric is on on the list or anyone has a technical contact who can help with connectivity issues to their hosted Web-sites, please pass this along to the right person/team or respond to me off-list. Some of our customers are having problems connecting to Web-services hosted by XO/Concentric. The problem is limited to customers within a certain /17 allocation we have (82.134.0.0/17). Ping and connections to the SMTP-service on the same destination IP are fine. But when the customers try to connect to the HTTP-service tcpdumps shows that no packets are returned. Internet routing table "completeness" monitoring?

Has anyone put in place a method to identify if one their BGP peers suddenly withdraws X% of their prefixes? e.g I should expect ~420k prefixes in a "complete"[1] routing table from a transit peer today. If suddenly I'm only getting 390k prefixes I'd guess a major network was depeered or similiar. If so how are people doing this? SNMP MIB, screen scrape? [1] Varying levels of completeless apply.

So what's the deal with 10Gbase-T

Hey guys, Does anyone here have experience running copper 10Gbase-T networks? It seems like the standard just died out. For us it would make a lot of sense for our applications -- even if throughput and latency aren't as great. If anyone out there knows of any *copper* 10 gig-t switches (48 port?), I'd be interested to hear your experiences. I can't seem to find any high-density ones from major vendors. Thanks, Andreas

RFC becomes Visio

Just got told by a Lightpath person that in order to do BGP on a customer gig circuit to them they would need a visio diagram (of what I dont know). Has anybody else seen this brain damage? Joe
